began to work more frequently in the stables. One day, Amara took Ely out for an excursion in an effort to tame a horse. After attempting to tame a horse by shoving a carrot in its mouth, Ely looked around and saw Amara nowhere in sight. Although they were eventually reunited, after being separated from Amara, Ely vowed never to leave his house again. This led to Ely shuttering himself from the outside world in order to better perform his duties. This fact, coupled with his parents’ incessant warnings about dealing with strangers, led to Ely going for days at a time without speaking any fragment of an utterance to anyone.
One day, his father approached Ely and told him that the time has come for him to obtain another skillset, hunting.
Under minor protest, Ely complied and Michael lead Ely into the forest where he proceeded to dawn a set of ghilli, pulled out his bow, and drew an arrow from his quiver. With the utmost precision, Michael was able to quickly dispatch a large bearcat. After verifying that the surrounding area was clear of any additional predators, Michael led Ely towards the bearcat and pulled out a sharpened axe and began to clean the bearcat and began to separate its muscles from the bones and hide. In the eyes of Ely, this sight was extremely gruesome and thus, Ely darted back towards the family home. For days, Ely refused to leave his quarters. Approximately three weeks after the aforementioned incident, Ely began to feel upset with himself for leaving Michael in such haste and felt it was his duty to apologize and rectify the situation. Although Michael was initially upset and baffled by Ely’s response, he was warmly receiving of his apology. Michael questioned if Ely would be open to attempting to eventually learn how to hunt and Ely agreed that he would begin learning at once. Eventually, Ely learned how to craft a bow and learned how to procure poison for arrows. Although Ely remained uncomfortable with slaughtering animals, he slowly began to process the scene from before and learned to move past its seemingly heinous
nature.
Almost one year after the incident, Ely had become moderately skilled as a hunter, while continuing to refine his craft in being a stablehand. Now, as an eleven year old boy, Ely was determined to continue to provide for his family in what capacity that he was able. However, Ely remains an extremely reserved individual and is unconfident in his work and terrified of his sister, for she wanted to light him on fire because he liked wearing his ghillie so much that he was practically grass. During this time, he was also trying to create his grass army and protect his grass people from the vile villain, which was everyone else. Although he was unable to prevent a storm from destroying them, it was a decent attempt. From this point onward, history will write itself and dictate his future.
