Love or Arrange Marriage
Love Marriage or Arrange Marriage Which one is better love marriage or arrange marriage? Arrange marriage is a type of marriage in which your family members decide that whom you are going to marry, while on the other hand in love marriage you marry the person that you understand and you love. Arrange marriages can make your family happy, but love marriage can make you happy. According to me love marriage is better because the girl sacrifice her family and her friends for the person whom she loves a lot, on the other hand in arrange marriage she has to sacrifice her everything for the person whom she even don’t know properly. A love marriage generally turns into good beginning of new life like friendship and care. But, there are many chances of divorce in arrange marriage because it is difficult to understand the person whom we don’t know properly. In arrange marriage the family decide the person by the basis of study, family background and look whether in love marriage we choose the person who is perfect for us and good from heart. In arrange marriage we can’t give our opinion or we can’t share our emotion because the family is ruled over by the elders, but if you do love marriage you can give your opinions and your partner will respect it. There are so many strict rules in big family and we have to follow them and even no one will support you if you are in a problem not even your partner. I have experienced it in my family that why love marriage is better? My parents did an arrange marriage and when they met first time my mom asked my dad that would you like to go out of country in future? He replied negatively but, after some year he got a chance to go USA with his family by the blood relation visa. So, he got excited and his dream was just to visit this developed, clean country and to make more money. Because of his dream I and my sister left our half study in my country, and we sacrificed our two years of study. I was in love with a guy

Myers et al., (2005) studied individuals in India living in arranged marriages and found no differences in marital satisfaction in comparison to individuals in non-arranged marriages in the US. This is also supported by Gupta and Singh (1982) who studied 100 degree-educated couples living in India, 50 of who had chosen their partners and 50 of who had their marriages arranged for them. The couples were asked to indicate how much they liked/loved their partners and it was found that love and liking was high in love marriages but decreased whereas love increased in arranged marriages and after 10 years exceeded love marriages. However, this study is difficult to generalise as it studies only a small sample and so cannot be generalised to the wider population. It therefore lacks validity.…

In “The Radical Idea of Marrying for Love,” Stephanie Coontz goes on to explain that marriages are more complicated now because they’re based on “true love” rather than just a simple partnership without feelings as they once were. She proves this point with many historical examples such as the culture behind Hindu marriages where love is not a factor in the decision to marry. However, unlike some of the other cultures Hindu traditions actually appreciate the growth of love as long as it is after a couple is married. I find this interesting because as an American it shocks me that people can commit to spend the rest of their lives with each other without any romantic feelings for one another. However, I think there is a certain beauty in the…

In the arranged world, they say marriage comes first and love later. Arranged marriages for the previous generations were arranged solely by the parents. The boy or girl probably wouldn’t even see each other before the wedding, depending on the parents. Arranged marriages are done all over the world, but were first introduced in the eastern countries. From data that was collected in 1989 from China found that, “The number of arranged marriages, in which parents have absolute control, has decreased” (Riley). Arranged marriages are not so prominent now how they were in the past. Arranged marriages now-a-days mainly takes place between wealthy families to keep high status within. Western countries, such as Canada and the United States of America, believe In a dating system that consists of seeing many different people to choose a compatible mate which they will marry in the future (Sharma). Arranged couples living here in the United States see that Western societal and cultural pressures differ from their homeland, which is why some won’t ask their children to accept an arranged marriage. In western society of course, arranged marriages are often looked down upon as being “Old fashioned” or out of date. With a number of traditional African cultures and Asian cultures, it is common for women to have their mates already selected for them by both the women’s and…

First reason I think in the same way as view 2 about arranged marriages and love marriages because I feel people should trust in themselves more than parents or a matchmaker. Based on a love marriage which mean two people trust in themselves more than someone else advice to them or decide for them of they have to do, and about choose someone to be a marriage partner for them. Just like in the Catalyst 2 book on page 93, chapter 4, reading 2, view 2, and paragraph 6 mean that they can understand their own feeling, their own decision and their mind better than just listen from someone telling them about their own future was like. Instead of let their family get involve in future partner; they can learn and…

Many parents want the best for their child, but choosing the one their child should marry is not the answer. Although, parents think choosing for their child is the best decision, they don’t know the many disadvantages that may occur within the marriage. One major disadvantage is that their child may not know the person, leading to a higher chance of divorce. Parents generally arrange their child’s marriage when the child is too young. One of the most important factors in a marriage is love, and without it, the marriage may not last as long as it really should. One of my family friends' parents had an arrange marriage. They are Hindu and in that religion, that's what they do. Whenever I am around them, I can see that they aren't loving one another because it is obvious. They don't act like my parents would or just a regular couple. They act as though they are just friends and they don't know much abut each other. I also watched a movie on arranged marriages and the moral of the movie was that arranged marriages don't work sometimes because the people don't really love each other, but they are just married because they have to be and are forced to be.…

Marriages are divided into four groups, these are the following groups; "forced arranged marriage", "parents or guardians select the the individuals are consulted", "individuals select and the parents or guardians are consulted", "individuals select and the parents or guardians are neither consulted". There is a controversy started by the human rights movement that it isn't ethical to let your parents choose your partner for life. The Human rights movement actually considers it a violate to womans rights as the man is near always the dominant one in these kind of marriages. The Human rights movement is also trying to prevent arranged marriages as it is a part of one of their campaigns right now. Many people use these arranged marriages only for wealth if the family of one individual is poor and they set up a marriage with a wealthy person, without even thinking about the brides or the grooms feelings toward each other. In conclusion i recommend to always go with the normal marriages of the western world where if you love someone you marry them without anyone else's consent, arranged marriages are just to f'd up and neither partners will be happy in that kind of…

Coontz discusses that love is not a reason to marry. Although her argument is pretty accurate, today’s society would disagree with this. Love and marriage are hot topics in all ages, let alone in modern society, for they concern every individual. In recent years, the relationship between them is becoming increasingly complicated. Marriage or love means differently to different people. Some believe that love and marriage are a whole part while others hold the opposite notion. Personally specking, I think that love and marriage are separate and they do not relate to each other so tightly as others think, allowing for the fact that love is not the guarantee of marriage, nor an indispensable part of marriage and marriage is not necessarily the reflection of love.…
