Discussion

A small but excellent novel "Lilies of the Field" made into an excellent and educational movie, the main subject of the novel and movie is bless the children and creatures even Charles, it is a fact that in the twentieth-century there are no significant literature work but the Americans in their strength and power, idiosyncratic individual interaction and independent characters. With the assistance of William E. Barrett 's novel Ralph Nelsons turn it into simple but fascinating story movie.

In some parts movie is sparer that novel whereas there are some sections and scenes of the novel are not included in the film, thereby creating changes in the tale or changing characters or adding some other effect which can be easily observed, but the matter to be acknowledge that all these changes some where else required by the movie Nelsons successes to justify the needs of little alteration with the same theme (Sophie, Papataxiarches & Stewart, P.86-97).

The Nelsons movie is more than in the area of Homer Smith (Sidney Poitier), whereas the play just describes us that He is and ex-GI. The Nelsons movie tells the viewers about his background in a very nut shell; people know only that he is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, and that he is moving in his beach wagon all the way through the United States South-west. Homer stops in the desert and containing a desolate mission; He inquires a woman religious that he needed water for the sake of his car which is overheating. Just after asking for water form the nun he realizes his wallet which is entirely skinny, and then he makes up his mind some task for the holy ladies, before Homer shifts whatsoever urban center goes on to come next (Swain, P.201-235).

A classic complaint about movie versions concerns the omission of material that the reader finds important, especially if the material defines a character. If the director must make film that is the proper length for a theatrical release, there is no way to include everything, especially when it comes from a long novel. The film version captured and etched vividly most of the major encounters of the hero that Mr. Crane described—the heart-breaking death of the Tall Soldier, the stunning blow on the head—all but the shocking discovery of the rotting corpse in the woods. This is out of the picture as it is being shown here, probably out of deference for the squeamish.…

The length and depth of the book might produce a movie has many deleted or developed events. This change can lead to different results: add more excitement to the story or unclear point to the viewers. The limited time of movies, which is mostly 1.5- 3 hours, force the director to do editing and delete many parts of the movie. Although The Help movie deleted many characters and events from the novel, it did not effect on the success. The researcher thinks that the movie was not as good the book because there were many deleted and changed senses.…

It is interesting to note, therefore, that both texts are alike in their thematic complexity, however differently these timeless themes are expressed, and that the textual techniques of both only serve to heighten the inevitable character, plot and thematic comparisons which have inevitably occurred, as is to be expected of a film whole prophetic quality and social significance are timeless, and a novel which was to become an irrefutable literary classic.…

In this paper, I am going to be comparing and contrasting the movie version and the novel entitled “The Accidental Tourist.” First, when one begins to read the book, they will notice that the opening scene takes place in a car on a rainy day. During this pivotal scene Sarah Leary asks Macon if he remembered what he said to a comment Sarah had said. She said “’I said to you the other day, I said, ‘Macon, now that Ethan’s dead I sometimes wonder if there’s any point to life.’ Do you remember what you answered?’ ‘Well not offhand,’ Macon said. ‘You said, ‘Honey, to tell the truth, it never seemed to me there was all that much point to begin with.’ Those were your exact words.’” Then she later tells Macon she wants a divorce. But, when one watches the movie, they would be deceived in two ways. First, Macon, the main character, is flying in an airplane and a man named Lucas Loomis, who does not appear until much later in the book, is with him. Secondly, if you wait a little while, you would see that Sarah and Macon are at home when they have the conversation that leads to Sarah’s divorce announcement. When I saw that I was hoping this was no indication of how the rest of the movie was going to be. But it was.…

The characters had been very much different. From the novel and to the movie, they had not even included the character under the name of Reuven. As well as, Rivka was introduced at the beginning instead of when they had met her at the camp in the novel. As well as, in the movie, the rabbi spoke out much more than in the novel. In the novel, the rabbi faded out of the novel as it went on. The plot from the novel and the movie was very different too. In the novel, the people caught escaping were shot, yet in the movie they were hung. In the movie, they had a Seder in the camp yet in the novel, they did not. As well as, in the movie, they had put pellets into the chamber to kill people, yet they didn't do that in the novel. They had other smaller details included that were different, yet they did not have any impact on the story, such as how they had to dig instead of doing their special jobs like in the…
