Life Goals Being a Nurse
I was born and raised in India, where poverty is very common. Throughout my life, I have seen all different kinds of people living in poverty, may it be infants, children, elderly people and even disabled people. Everyday, I would see people on the streets begging others for money just so they could treat their ailing relatives. Whenever I saw them, I felt so weak. I wanted to help them, yet I didn’t know how since I was just a child. It wasn’t until I moved here in the United States that I realized that health care is truly the right path for me.
Moving to United States made me realize how other countries like India are in great need of health services. It made me more aware of the situation and now that I am older, I know that I could do my part. Seeing the poverty and lack of good health care gave me more than the desire to become a nurse, it gave me the passion and determination to achieve that career. I believe that passion and determination are important elements in becoming a nurse. Therefore, I decided to Interview one of my very good friend, Jasmine Lakhani. She’s a RN and she is also born and raised in same hometown as me, India.
Jasmine Lakhani said, “She chose nursing because it allows me to interact more with people. Nursing is a very powerful profession, it allows people to influence and touch lives.” This made me wonder, that I am very willing to achieve this big responsibility. I am eager to be there for the patients through illness, injury pain, loss, grieving, birth, growth, aging and health. I consider myself as very determined and strong. I have the drive and determination to achieve my goal of being a nurse. I am also thoughtful, caring and open. I believe that my drive and qualities would reflect on me being a nurse and would make me successful one. Success is what everybody in this world strives to achieve, but not everybody can taste it because they do not know how. College is one of the tools you can use to be successful because it gives

Pursuing a career in nursing is a goal I am determined to accomplish. My interest in nursing is because of the classes and people that have come into my life. One individual who sparked my interest was a close friend of mine. At one moment in her life she was dealing with a difficult ordeal. She was diagnosed with a mental illness by her primary care physician. Although she had a medical condition she decided it was best not to tell her family about it, and confided in me. I felt that it was unfortunate that she was not able to discuss it with her family because of the stigma attached to her condition. She widened my awareness, because I now know that many young people might be experiencing the same emotions as her. I then began studying mental…
