Letter To Adopt An Animal Shelter
Good morning, I have been hearing from this local animal shelter and I've heard you have many loving animals for adoption. I wrote this letter to tell you how profoundly interested I am in adopting a new pet, so I want to ask, what do I need for me to adopt a pet, what are the requirements of adopting a pet in this animal shelter, I believe I have what is needed to adopt this pet, I have food to buy the dog I want, and and I have the perfect place for him/her to live in.

Another thing that has my head itching is how your shelter operates, I want to know how and why to do you maintain these animals and waste money on them, and how you manage to get so many things to maintain them, I also want to ask what your policies are for protecting animals.

The not for profit company I have chosen for this assignment is the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. This company was founded in 1866 by Henry Bergh and was the first humane organization founded in the western hemisphere. Today, it is one of the largest humane organizations in the world. Their area of interest is nationwide with a focus to rescue animals from abuses, pass humane laws and share resources with shelters. The mission statement is “to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States.” Some of the activities they participate in include community outreach, animal health services, and anti-cruelty initiatives. The ASPC is privately funded, but also receives donations which are solicited in various ways like television commercials and online advertisements. The core values center around the belief “that animals were entitled to kind and respectful treatment at the hands of human and must be protected under the law.”…

The web page displays several sections with the purpose to highlight the facts of this organization; such as, the anecdotes from various people who either saved an animal and took it to the shelter or from people who adopted a new family member. This logical format and information supports the goal of convincing the reader by illustrating real life cases. Furthermore, the website also possesses a portion that highlights statistical relevant to the amount of animals rescued. It shows the amazing number of 3320 pets were rescued last year, additionally a quantity of 3350 of them found a home. This critical data is a strong model for the rhetorical appeal of “logos”. Alternatively, more data are shown; such as, the number of volunteers and volunteer hours practiced within the organization by all kinds of individuals with a large variety of professional backgrounds. As well, this site reveals the approximate cost of daily maintenance and care for each dog or cat. Based on the concrete material presented and its consistency, it pushes the reader to understand the goal of El Paso Humane Society of making a difference in the life of these unfortunate…

    1. ATTENTION GETTER: Millions of animals are abused each year. Over a million of these animals are abused or killed just due to the involvement with domestic violence. Despite animal cruelty being a felony which can result in jail time for over 15 years and 500,000 dollars in fines, it is still an issue which occurs on a daily basis across the United States. It is important for these animals to not go unnoticed, which can be achieved if society became more enlightened and educated on the topic of animal cruelty. (Pacelle, 2011).…

Although the equal rights of animals is in question, The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) effectively advocates for the well-being of animals by providing health care assistance and legal advocacy, searching out the problem to find a solution that is potent, and rescuing them from danger. The ASPCA does compile available resources with intentions to better the lives of animals. Statistics substantiate that the numbers of animals entering shelters in a year's time does not counterpart with the number of animals leaving the shelter in the same year’s time.
