Legalization of Cannibalism
Virginia Woolf once said, "One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well." This is one of the many arguments behind legalizing cannibalism. If the act of eating other human beings was legalized and regulated it will solve all the problems of modern society. Cannibalism has been around since the Neolithic times. It is not currently practiced, but I think a revival of this age-old practice would benefit everyone. Cannibalism can solve world hunger. It can improve our criminal justice system. Cannibalism will also put an end to over population and spice up some of the current cooking shows. The legalization of cannibalism is what our modern world needs to turn itself around. The common idea behind using cannibalism to end world hunger is that we can kill half the people in the world and feed them to the other half. I disagree with that. Humans can live without their pinkey fingers, appendixes, and tonsils. This amounts to more than four hundred grams of useable meat per person. If the entire world donated those body parts, we would have 2, 400, 000, 000, 000 grams of meat or 2, 400, 000 metric tons or 3, 779, 250 cows worth of meat. These figures do not include the number of people who die and who would be edible. This, combined with the other foods currently available would help feed all the hungry people of the world. By legalizing and encouraging organized cannibalism we can help hungry and malnourished people everywhere. If cannibalism is legalized the world will be much better behaved. I do not think that the majority of criminals would commit crimes if they knew that their appendages would end up in the supermarket if they were caught. This would also apply to schools. Detentions do not work, but I think that if you break a rule you will have to give a limb to be eaten. If you are late five times, it is a toe. If you skip an English class, the punishment is a pound of flesh. The Young Offenders Act should also

The officers decided to investigate the “weird dude.”…

Eating less meat is not going to solve all the problems in the world but it can have a positive impact such as the environment rational. Fraser stated, “If Americans just ate less meat – like driving cars less often – the problem could be alleviated without giving up meat entirely. (698). This approach has worked for centuries and continues to work in America and Europe. The problem isn’t meat, but too much meat. (698). The way we eat meat and how often we eat it can cause a major effect on the environment. The more meat Americans eat, the more animals’…

Economic: Industrial farming claims that without the factory model, not enough food would be produced to feed all the people in the world (beyond). “Bigger is Better” is quoted and that industrial farming is the most efficient way to produce cheap food for the world (Beyond). By keeping these animals in tight spaces the company saves space and money on the cost of taking good care of the animals toward the end of their life. Economies of scale has a huge part to play in this industry as well. Also the process that these companies use, brings down the expenses that most other farming companies have to pay for like having more employees to watch and care for the animals on the land. Since these industrial farms are so efficient,…

The author, Basil Johnston, is trying to portray the connection between a mythical story from the Aboriginals and the way we are destroying the environment today, from his article Modern Cannibals of the Wilds, written in 1991. Johnston begins his article by telling a story about a habitat filled with many different species such as: fish, birds, insects and other wildlife. Then, Johnston continues to introduce a cannibalistic mythical creature called weendigoes, who feed on human flesh to try to satisfy his never-ending hunger. After Johnston introduces the mythical weendigoes, he transitions into introducing the modern weendigoes who care reincarnated as humans, depicted as industries, corporations and multinationals who dwells on wealth and profits from forestry. As the story continues, the use of woodsmen with axes to harvest trees converts to clear-cutting tractors, as the corporations’ greed increases. Industrial destruction of the ecosystems from greed, selfishness, and ignorance of the human nature will have negative impacts on the environment, wildlife and the climate change.…

I feel that mostly everything in the world becomes natural and the natural part is hunting animals, which shouldn’t be done in the first place. Companies such as McDonald’s, Burger King, and KFC use animal meat for their fast-foods and people eat them. Makes me feel that if their eating animals that have flesh n blood, then why not eat humans because technically humans are also meat. So why not just eat yourself then?…

Organs are constantly needed around the world by dying patients and anxious doctors. Sadly, there isn’t enough donors so patients stuck in the waiting list are being left untreated because of the lack of organs. I believe donating should be forced to be mandatory everywhere because people don’t believe they need to. In reality it is our moral duty to help whoever is in need. I plan to present the benefits, problems, and solutions towards this controversial topic.…

Mr. Swifts proposal is vial. It does have it's moments where it makes sense but for the most part, it's ridiculous. I understand it's meant to be satirical but it might be taking things too far. Cannibalism isn't exact the thing you joke about. He's proposing children be eaten to keep people from dying of starvation. But cannibalism is illegal and wrong. You're voluntarily killing and eating humans because you're hungry. There are other ways to solve world hunger.…

Allow me to recall your high school history lessons, more specifically about Europe. Ireland during the 1700’s was heavily repressed by England via trade restrictions and limited parliamentary power in Dublin. Like a small shrub that struggles to subsist under the looming shadow of a mighty forest tree, Ireland was not faring well. Jonathan Swift, a very well- educated man and a stalwart Irish patriot, wrote his controversial piece, “A Modest Proposal,” in order to call attention to the horrid conditions that people were subjected to under English rule. I completely understand your stance on the piece; cannibalism is the quintessence of disgust and cruelty. Suffer me once more to recall another thing you must have learned in high school, particularly your studies in the English language. Upon closer inspection by scholars over a great many years, the truth about “A Modest Proposal” has been revealed. It is satire, or a piece that points out flaws in society by poking fun at problems. The reason behind his piece was simply to spur the reader to action. Although each statistic in “A Modest Proposal” is very accurate sounding and methodical and nearly sensible, there are reasons within the piece to reach the former conclusion of satire. One such reason is quite obvious: there is no proof…

According to West’s Encyclopedia of American Law, between 1990 and 1999, a well-known advocate for physician assisted suicide, Jack Kevorkian helped 130 patients end their lives. He begun the debate on assisted suicide should be legal or should be illegal. Kevorkian believed in the right to die, “The voluntary self-elimination of individual and mortally diseased or crippled lives taken collectively can only enhance the preservation of public health and welfare” (Kevorkian). He created his own machine that would be used to give the patient a mixture of pain killers and poisons to end a patient’s life. Kevorkian was charged with first degree murder for the death of one of his patients he had helped end their life. Kevorkian tried to get a ballot…
