Introduction:
In constantly changing world, it is essential that organizations are also able to change. Today’s organizations need true leaders, leaders who constantly strive to bring innovative or strategic changes to life.
“True leaders have a vision, vision which is not a dream but reality that has yet to come into existence’. In the next chapter I will try to explain importance and values between leadership and vision for today organizations.
“Where there is no vision, the people perish”- Proverbs 28:18
The organizations which leaders have no vision are doomed. They cannot grow and prosper because they don’t change but keep the things as there are: “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”. In order to keep up with competitive world, we need true leaders. True leaders are those who see things as; if it ain’t broke, you are not looking hard enough. ” They believe that there is always room for improvement that things can be done better or differently. They understand the need for constant change in order to stay alive.
There are three attributes of a true leader:
- Leaders have a passion;
- They have a vision that they communicate to their followers and
- They have a values system that illustrate how to get to that vision
Passion:
Passionate leaders are those who are motivated and inspired by the vision they have.
“I have a dream” speech by Martin Luther King radiated with passion. When leader has a passion it is more likely that he/she will have passionate followers.
Vision:
The leader with vision is able to see the present as it is and formulate the future that grows out and improve upon the present.
The vision is essential for business and has tremendous force. Constant presence of a vision keeps leader moving despite fairs of failure, resistance and other constraints. When shared with employers, vision helps company move forward especially when faced with difficulties. By sharing the same vision, individuals work
