Leadership and Time Management
Nursing, a profession often referred to as “a calling” with numerous opportunities for advancement. Though this is genuine, not everybody has what it takes to be viable in administration, in spite of the fact that everybody can possibly be a leader. An appraisal of our own time management, in addition to inspecting our own authority speculations and breaking down the distinction between quality initiative and administrative abilities, healthcare professionals can decide their own mentoring capabilities and shortcomings.

The "Great Man Theory" which was a sexist perspective for the most part formerly imagined that with a detailed goal to be a sufficient leader, you must be a male and conceived with those qualities. As time passed, various distinctive hypotheses in regards to the characteristics of leaders have surfaced: Trait Theory, Behavioral Theory, Contingency Theory, and Contemporary Theory. For my personality and my qualities the Contemporary theory completes me the best. This theory is decisive based on the level of development the person has. Knowing an individual’s needs, objectives, participation, and ability are all components that a leader ought to know in turn of becoming a successful leader (Grossman & Valiga, 2013). A positon in which one has authority is not a requirement for being a leader. A leader tends to be more engaging and easy to talk to. They are more likely to be motivators, declare values, and are relationship oriented (South University Online, 2014, para. 2). A leader must acquire particular qualities such as determining an objective, support others, influence as well as inspire (Romero, 2010, p. 4). According to Grossman & Valiga (2013) everyone has the potential of being a leader and should be thought of as a learned skill and not as a position (p. 4). A manager is more impersonal and consist of less emotional involvement. As stated by Sieloff & Ralph (2011) there are three behaviors such as respecting nurses, the profession, as well as the art and science of nursing in which a nurse manager should exhibit in order to be seen by others as a leader (p. 979).
