Experiment: Chemical reactions, and Equations

Materials:
3 mL of copper(II) sulfate solution. 5 mL of 6 M HCl piece of zinc wooden splint test tube Bunsen burner 3 mL of zinc chloride solution. pentahydrate distill water 0.1 g of ammonium dichromate phenolphthalein tongs strip of magnesium spatula
NaOH HCl sodium nitrate potassium chloride. magnesium sulfate calcium nitrate sodium carbonate.

Safety notes:
1. Wear aprons and goggles. Protective gloves are also available.
2.Carefully read the labels of all chemicals before use. Abide by specific warnings and directions. 3. Collect all materials needed for a procedure before proceeding.
4. Perform reactions under the hood when directed. Chemicals may be weighed and prepared at balance or lab tables, but tests should be carried out under the hood.
5.Acids and caustic chemicals are stored in the hood. Please do not take these chemicals from the hood.

Procedure:

PART 1: Metathetical reactions
Precipitation reactions

A1. Add a dropperful of 0.1 M sodium carbonate in a test tube of 0.1 M calcium nitrate.
A2. Add a dropperful of 0.1 M sodium hydroxide in a test tube of 0.1 M magnesium sulfate.
A3. Add a dropperful of 0.1 M potassium chloride in a test tube of 0.1 M sodium nitrate
B1. Add a dropperful of 0.1 M NaOH and one drop of phenolphthalein to a test tube. Note the color. Add 0.1 M HCl drop by drop
