Klondike Gold Rush Analysis
1.The part that I enjoyed the most while reading this story is the lesson that you can learn from the main characters and events that took place. For example, Soapy Smith was able to convinced the people of Skagway that he is a good man after knowing the plan of the Committee of 101.
Some people was still doubtful on what really his true motive for saying that he is a good man and people should give a chance to prove it. The town people should have known better about he’s motive of using the town for his own personal needs.

2. The part that I disliked in the story was when Wellington tried escape to avoid the fifty lashing, and ended up blowing up his brains out. I think he is a coward for not going through the punishment. Meanwhile, Hansen

The author and the illustrator were able balanced the text and the graphics by using a story of how power and wealth can turn people against one another. By using situations that deals with historical events that happened during the Klondike gold rush. The story became more interesting to read because of its historical connection. The illustrator also did a great job on the visual images that represent the main characters and the main events of the story.

5. I understand the historical version of the story much better than this story. The story of
Klondike gold rush between 1896 to 1899 brought 100,000 people to the Klondike region of northwestern Canada in the Yukon region. The harsh terrain and unpredictable weather didn’t stop people on climbing the Klondike. Many of them went through ports of Dyea and Skagway in Southeast Alaska. From this route they either take the Chilkoot or the White Pass trails to the
Yukon River all the way to the Klondike. Canadians authorities requires them to bring one year’s supply of food to prevent starvation. The challenging trip was a success for some who were lucky to find gold, for others brought disappointment.
