Kids & Cops Essay
My essay is about what drugs can do to you. Drugs and the people who supply drugs do not care about you and what happens to you as a person. The people who give children drugs are not your friends! Drugs can take a healthy child and change them within a matter of minutes. Drugs can sometimes put you in a hospital never to return home to your family, pets, friends, or school.

Taking drugs can cause people to never want to play with you or be friends with you. Drugs can change your entire personality. Parents will never let their kids play with other kids that do drugs. Kids who don’t us drugs are afraid of people who use them. Parents and other people look down on people that do drugs and think less of them. Not only does drugs affect your outer looks it kills brain cells and causes you to do things without thinking of the consequences.

You should always stay drug-free because drugs can lead to death. Drugs can cause brain damage, heart failure, lung cancer, kidney failure and also car accidents. If you are using drugs while driving a car you could easily have a wreck and not only hurt yourself but take another life.

Please don’t use drugs. No matter what anyone says, drugs are BAD in any city, state, or country. Drugs and the people that use drugs and supply drugs are going nowhere in life. If you stay drug-free you can rest assure you have the chance of a very successful life. Please use good judgement now and always, stay drug-free and don’t hurt the people that love you the

Abusing the use of prescription drugs is a form of distraction as well as drugs that are more commonly known throughout the world. According to the NIH, research provided after an accident showed the use of nicotine, alcoholic drinks, and over the counter painkillers taken by the driver (Drugged Driving n.p.). Making officers become bilingual would make it easier for Hispanic officers to not feel discriminated in situations in which an officer is needed on a scene to translate. Many people who come from Central and South America do not trust many officers in the U.S. because they were always faced with corrupt and abusive cops. Immigrants often feel more comfortable in calling in certain officers in which they know they can relate to them.     The criminal justice system is made up of three component agencies, which are the police, courts, and corrections. The police are to enforce the laws and investigate crimes. They apprehend the offenders and reduce and prevent crime. The court is to conduct fair and impartial trails and deciding criminal cases. The court is suppose to ensure due process and determine if the person is guilty or innocence in the changes against them. The corrections is suppose to carry out the sentences imposed be the courts and provide a safe and humane custody and supervision of the offenders. The corrections are to protect the community and rehabilitate, reform, and reintegrate convicted offenders back into the community. The criminal justice process is a standard sequence of events that begins when the crime is detected. It consists of five major stages, which are investigation and arrest, pretrial activities, trail, sentencing, and the corrections. The investigation and arrest begins with an investigation of the crime commented. Evidence is collected at the scene to put together a sequence of activities or events that may have took place. After the evidence is gathered then they issue a warrant by the judicial officer directing a law enforcement officer to perform a specific act. After the person is arrested is when they question the person about the time, place, and the reason for the arrest. The next stage is the criminal justice process is the pretrial activities, where the person gets his or her first appearance, preliminary hearing, information or indictment, and arraignment for the crime that is against them. The trail is where the person accused is giving a trail to see if he or she is found guilty or not. The sentencing is when the person is found guilty by the judge and is required to pay a fine, be placed on probation, or incarcerated for the crime.
