Karate Kid Essay
Karate kid is a fun family movie made in 1984 Directed by John Avildsen, starring Ralph Macchio who was in his 20’s at the time who is Daniel Larsson, Noriyuki "Pat" Morita as Mr. Miyagi, Elisabeth Shue as Ali Daniel’s girlfriend, Randee Heller as Lucille Larsson who is Daniel’s Mum. I believe that the movie karate kid does not show a good anti-bulling message as Bulling affects everyone, Bulling never stops unless you do something about it and Bulling Affects everyone mentally and physically.
Firstly, Bulling affect everyone, the first scene that we see these bullies in is when Daniel and his new friend are down at the beach, the main bully Jonnie started being aggressive to Ali because he wanted to talk about their previous relationship. Jonnie then ends up smashing her beatbox on the ground. Daniel then tries to stand up to Ali causing him to get a karate kick in the chest. The next main scene that we see with the Daniel and bullies, Daniel is tripped by one of the causing him to be kicked out of the soccer team. This just proves that bullying affects everyone. Once a bully knows someone they can hurt or beat that will usually be their new target. …show more content…
Miyagi requested them not to hurt Daniel while he is training for the karate tournament. You might be thinking that what I just said means that the bullies stopped bullying him but that is wrong. Still, even after they made that agreement Johnny still wanted to beat Daniel up. This just proves that there is almost no way to stop bullying, as the bullies were still intended to hurt

    It does not just leave the mind of the victim one day. Short-term effects involve: poor engagement in learning environments, anxiety, and depression. However the more alarming effects come in the long-term. Because victims have not had the chance to effectively devise coping strategies and abilities, they can often find themselves dealing with more struggles later in life as a result. Long-term relationships are harder to form and sustain and sadly, the pattern of bullying continues but now in adult life the victim becomes the bully and is more likely to resort to the same type of aggression and violence they were attacked with.     To display what I have learnt and show my knowledge of representations in the media of bullying I decided to produce a short film to show different aspects of bullying, using my investigation to help me to conform to the typical representations of bullying in this day and age.
