I would prefer to do the things I really enjoy rather than the things that are important. I sometimes use these things to make excuses for not the things that I should be doing. I tend to give more importance to these things at any given time of the day, it makes prioritizing these activities that much harder. I always believed doing the easy tasks first and getting them done then proceeding to complete the harder tasks last. My problem is I get easily distracted with my zappers. Having taking this GS 1145 class has shown me how to reconstruct and use my time wisely. By using a To Do List will help improve me with using my time wisely. This will motivate me to list my easy and hard things to do so I can complete in a timely manner. In contrast with the Self-Assessment, I consider myself to be more of a morning person, so getting started on these tasks soon after I wake every morning would ensure successful completion. Also limiting contact with others while working on these tasks would eliminate the temptation to enjoy my zappers. I also need to set aside certain days of the week to complete these tasks as well. Now that I have a plan, I plan to implement it a soon as possible in hopes that my school work gets done and still have time for my zappers.…

As Chair of the Department of Accounting, Jean has the position source power. According to Lussier and Achua, position power is derived from top management, and it is delegated down the chain of command (Lussier & Achua, 2010). The type of power that she is using falls under legitimate power, which is based on the user’s position power, given by the organization (Lussier & Achua, 2010). In addition, Jean is also using the consultation influencing tactic by consulting her employees for ideas on the new policy. I believe the negotiation tactic is appropriate in this case because the exchange tactic would mean that Jean has no authority over the employees whom she is addressing.…
