In his Huffington Post article, “Goodbye to MBTI, The Fad That Won’t Die,” author Adam Grant discusses his personal experience with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, in addition to providing information about its perception by members of the scientific community. Grant notes the popularity of the psychological assessment, mentioning that millions of people take it every year, and that the MBTI is becoming an increasingly widespread method through which companies learn more about their employees. He gives a fairly accurate description of the test and its uses, initially providing just a simple list of the four personality categories, but later giving more information about how each trait pair is defined.…

The Briggs Myers four personality trait dimensions are one way to categorize the personality types of different people. According to Briggs and Myers, there are four categories in which your personality type is determined. Each category has two options: Introversion versus extraversion, sensing versus intuition, thinking versus feeling, and judging versus perceiving. Writing tends to be the preferred method of communication for an introvert. They may also be more private and enjoy reflecting on ideas. An extrovert, on the other hand, is more attuned to…

I tend to be introverted, but it is not always the case. I am not comfortable in a large group of people I do not know and will far more often than not resort to being an introvert. This changes for me though if I am in group of family members or friends. I would not go too far as to say that I am an extrovert in those situations and surroundings, but I am far from an introvert and feel confident in saying that I am closer to being an extrovert than an introvert if I am comfortable with the large majority of people I am spending time…
