Preparation of this report would not have been possible without the cooperation and support extended by the Jalna Municipal council’s officers and councilors for the support they extended in the form of sharing data as well as exchanging views , and also the experts from different fields in the towns, households we interviewed and interacted with. At the core of the efforts in studying the development issues and attributes of the town for the preparation of this report were the informants, activists, civil society members and other stakeholders in the town, who without a stint shared their experiences and insights that were very valuable. A consolidated list of sources of information is included in the Annexure to this report.
We must thank the Secretary, Urban Development Department, and Director, Directorate of
Municipal Administration, Government of Maharashtra, who issued blanket letters that enabled access to various sets of information and data related to municipal service provisioning in the studied towns.
