Importance Of Personal Integrity

Personal integrity to me is having strong morals and values in which you make wise choices throughout your life. The ways in which I’ve demonstrated my own personal integrity is through constant involvement in my school’s softball team for 3 years , 2 of which I served as captain , being the secretary of not only the perry fite national honor society chapter at my school but also for my graduating class. The future value which this involvement has had has not only helped me develop my personal integrity but has allowed me to demonstrate it all at the same time. The opportunity to constantly be able to participate in such activities will hold a big role in my college experience from the choices I will make, to the organizations I will be involved in and the way I will carry and represent where I come from while attending college.
Personal Integrity to me
consists of staying true to oneself and what you were raised believing in, whether it differs from what you were taught as a child. It’s all about staying true to yourself and what you believe in. In life one will face many challenges which will challenge your morals but it’s your own personal integrity which you have to show in such situations. Such actions will help show the level of integrity which you hold within yourself.
The ways in which I have shown my own personal integrity has been through constant involvement in activities which are offered at my school. Being involved in softball has challenged my personal integrity since my schools softball team consist of people with differing morals and values which at one point really set up a barrier between everyone and eventually developed into a lack of communication which led to a whole season of losing every single game. Eventually I had to set my values and morals aside and as captain I decided, it doesn’t matter that people have differing views. That’s the beauty of the world actually, the wide range of values which people hold is what makes the whole word this huge boiling pot. Softball has allowed me to display my personal integrity in showing my compassion and understanding with everyone’s differing beliefs.
Being secretary for both the perry fite national honor society chapter and student council has helped display my personal integrity since in both activities you are introduced to many community service opportunities.
Such opportunities will allow one to get to know different people. Interacting with people of different cultures will grant many benefits since it’ll allow me to look at things from a different perspective. Constant interaction with different cultures will give me a more knowledgeable approach to dealing with certain problems or concepts which might arise later on in my life. In national honor society I have been the secretary and I’ve had to make choices which pertained to entry into the chapter I’ve had to adjust in order to meet everyone’s expectations but I’ve also stayed true to myself all at the same time. If it came down to a situation in which my own integrity was being doubted and attacked I stood up for myself and my values as well as in student council when making choices on class activities I’ve put my own wants and considered everyone else’s since I am a representation of my
class.
