Importance of Education
Importance of Education

The importance of learning in enabling the individual to put his potentials to optimal use is self-evident. Without education, the training of the human minds is incomplete. No individual is a human being in the working world until he has been educated in the proper sense. Now I'm not saying you're not a human being without education. The mind was made to be trained and without education, a person is incomplete in that sense. Education makes man a right thinker and a correct decision-maker. It achieves this by bringing him knowledge from the external world, teaching him to reason, and acquainting him with past history, so that he may be a better judge of the present. Without education, man, as it were, is shut up in a windowless room. With education, he finds himself in a room with all its windows open to the outside world. In other words, people who are not educated have less opportunity to do what they want to do.
A person that gets a good education will become a more dependable worker, a better citizen, and a stronger consumer. For example, people would rather higher an educated man rather than a non-educated person. When looking at the long-term effects of an education, our economy needs these educated people to know how to keep the economy efficient and not get into a bind in the future. Someone said if they were Bill Gates ( Since he is very educated), would he understand the economy better? Of course not but that's not what I am trying to say. How advanced do you think the computer would be without him? The more educated someone is, the more knowledge one obtains on different subjects. Each person has a different level of understanding for each subject there is to learn about. That is why there are experts in every field you could go into and each part is a piece of the puzzle that makes this world/economy grow. Since technology has come as far as it has in the past decades, there are important skills that must be learned. Strong science and math skills are needed in order to build the many interstates and highways, plants and pipelines, and electrical systems. These skills have been used in the past, but not nearly as much and as precise as they are used now. No one knows what the future holds. The skills from the past are used today, the skills of today are going to be used tomorrow, and the skills of tomorrow are going to be used in the future. The only problem is that we don't know what the skills of tomorrow will be because more skills are going to be added with the more technological advances we make daily.
There are different levels of education that can be completed. The first level is receiving a high school diploma or an equivalent to that. This level teaches students the basic skills needed to live and work in the world. The next level of education is a vocational school, college, or university. This level expands on the skills needed to live and work. A vocational school uses a more direct approach to teaching students specifically the trade they want to learn, along with the skills and knowledge to succeed and advance in business. Colleges and universities give a person an all-round education so that one has a broader and deeper understanding of how everything fits together.
The more education received, the better a person will understand how everything fits together in the world. There are many different parts to society, just like there are many different parts to a human body. Like the human body, the society has to work together in order for everything to function correctly. People need education so they know their role and how they can help improve society. Education is a part of life that no one can ever take away from a person.
I'm not sure what I want to be but right now but I am pursuing in the field of architecture. My parents came from Indonesia when they were in college and didn't know a word of English. My dad was dead broke but luckily he found a wonderful person who took care of him. My dad tried to get work anywhere he could, being a bus boy and a dishwasher. But since he worked hard on his schooling he is now a clinical lab scientist at Saint Agnes Hospital. This goes to show how important an education really is to succeed in life.
Education not only gives you the skills and knowledge to be a contributing citizen, but also, education gives you the worth and self esteem so you see yourself as a valuable person. All these reasons explain why I and everyone else is in school today. Without education, how do you think the world would be today? Probably exactly like a 3rd world country because they aren't educated.
