How Does Poe Create Suspense
We al live in suspense from day to day, in other words you are the hero of your own story .Readers are suspense worms, they love suspense as they are eager to know what is going to happen next. Suspense gives tension which authors usually use to create tension like Edgar Ellen Poe. Edgar Ellen Poe uses continous repetition to create suspense. For e.g in the story he uses continuous repetition " I moved it slowly -very , very slowly ." He does this to create tension and he even wants the reader to think how slowly he was heading in . He even uses first person narration and questions his own madness which makes the reader think what is he going to do next . For e.g in the story " very dreadfully nervous " that he shows he was mentally
