Our world revolves around numbers. When most people think of the term mathematics or the word “algebra”, they do not get excited. Most people tend to say “I hate math!” or “when are we ever going to use it in our lives.” The fact is that algebra will be used in our lives whether we know it or not. Math is seen everywhere in life; whether it is in science or nature or even architecture, it is always present. Math is necessary for even the most basic life functions. One needs math to buy groceries, determine a budget, and calculate interest on investments. Math will always be involved. The world would not exist without the concept of our universal language of math. Mathematics allows us to live our life in order and prevents chaos. Everyone needs

    Mathematics has always been a subject that I enjoy. For me, it is simple. Numbers just seem to make sense to me. Even upon entering high school where math changed drastically- new terms, new formulas, and even new numbers that I wasn’t familiar with- I have managed to gracefully continue to excel in the subject. She had an engaging personality and her teaching style was great. She was very persistent in the way that she explained things because she wanted to be sure that we all understood. Ms. Peyton was very similar to her, except that she possessed a more relaxed, wittier kind of personality. She usually had clever shortcuts and strategies that assisted us in grasping concepts in my eleventh grade Pre-Calculus class.
