Students have after school sports, which require hours of practice a day, and changing the schedule would cause scheduling conflicts and reduced practice time for an athlete. But parents don’t realize that sleeping more gives an athlete added energy. Others argue that high school students have jobs that would be affected if the school schedule changed. Managers of the local fast-food restaurants have pointed out that high school students are not needed at this time, since many of their customers are still at work. The main reason administrators refuse to adjust the school schedule is because of the district budget. In order to reduce the amount of money spent on transportation, high school students have to get up early. Adjusting the schedules would force the school district to spend more on transportation. This problem can be easily solved; young elementary students can switch schedules with the high school students.
