This war begins in 1862-1865, over 50,000 heros died that day many wounded and missing from the rolls. Robey a young 14 year old goes in search of his father, accompanied by his Coal black horse he ventures into what seems to be impossible, finding his father, a soldier fighting in the cival war. Throughout his journey he finds that many of the soldiers fighting in the war have died and there is a slim chance for him to find his father. His Coal Black Horse stays with him where ever he goes, a sort of companion. But an old man take the young boys horse and shoots him, while he lays there helpless the old man gets away with his horse. Now Robey has to find his companion and his father.
