What has triggered these changes? How have these changes impacted the various people, institutions and policies within society? Has technology impacted society in a positive or negative manner?

Task
You are a social scientist. Create a five-minute video “rant” (in the style of Rick Mercer) aimed at high school and university students to better inform them about the effects of digital technology. Your goal is to understand the effects of digital technology on youth culture through the lens of one (or more) of the three social sciences and create a video demonstrating that understanding. Your rant should be creative, entertaining, informative, and organized so that viewers will have a better understanding of the effects of digital technology on society and their lives.

Standards of Quality
Your product must meet the following standards of quality:

the video must be professionally edited with music, images, and speaking (you should be talking and not typing your information) the video must examine the effects of digital technology through the lens of sociology, psychology, and/or anthropology (use at least 3-4 social science theories or theorists to analyze these effects) be at least 3-4 minutes in length include your personal beliefs and examples about the effects of digital technology (take a stand on the effects of digital technology and don’t try to be objective) overall, the video must answer the following questions (there are no right or wrong answers):
In what ways do advances in digital technology shape, influence and reflect society? How will digital technology affect/shape/influence the future?
What would each of the three disciplines and theorists say about digital technology and its results, effects, benefits, and drawbacks?

The book Next: The Future Just Happened, by Michael Lewis, highlights the coming of the age of the internet and its effects on society. In my paper, I will be agreeing with the claim that technology has had a large, farfetched, impact on society today. I believe that it not only hurts but it also hinders communication and affect the way that children behave. I plan to argue that the theory I will be supporting is accurate and true based on facts, evidence and experience. I plan to argue that although some may say that technology has no impact on children, they are the ones most vulnerable to act on what they see and hear. Parents can have only so much control over their children but they cannot control what the child thinks or does when he or she is not in the presence of the parents.…

In the Frontline video titled Digital Nation, Rachel Dretzin and Douglas Rushkoff explored the impact of digital media on today’s society. In the video they cover everything from it’s impact on the brain, to it’s impact on students, to it’s impact on the military. Nothing is spared in this investigation on the effect of digital media, and growing up in a wired world. However the main thing I managed to take away from this film was it has had a dramatic effect on human abilities and communication, which I will be discussing in the following paragraphs.…

The entire purpose of this paper is to find out the answer to the question: How does technology affect our daily lives?” Many different sources said many different things, however they somehow all connected at one point or another. “Body and Soul: Beware of Digital Gluttony,” by Kate Wicker, suggests that technology is now apart of us and our lives and there isn't much we can do to change it. “Technology is a real part of our lives, we are living in an “ICulture” whether we like it or not.” (Wicker. Pg.21) She has made it clear that she believes that whether we see technology in a positive or negative way, it’s here to stay. However, Williesha Morris, author of “Technology Addiction: Breaking the Chain,” says something a little different. “If you're an executive over the age of 30-35, you remember a time when such devices didn’t exist. They weren’t needed then, so why are they so crucial now?” (Morris.Pg.17) Morris seems to believe that we don't need them today, or she's at least questioning why society relies on technology as much as it does.…
