In the spirit of Mother’s Day approaching, I felt it only obligatory to talk about the mothers in the novels in which I’ve read. I could mention the first lady in which I read in class from the novel “The Great Gatsby”, although this lady being Daisy Buchanan wasn’t much of a motherly role to commend. The mother I’d like to take my hat off to would be Ma Joad in “The Grapes of Wrath.” In comparison to a great motherly role is Mrs. Kelly in “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter.” These are two mothers who would do anything to keep their families together.…

My mother has a huge impact on my life. She has faced so many challenges in her life, and she’s amazing for it. My mother, had to stop going to college because she got pregnant with my sister. How many to be mothers would drop out of college just to take care of their new born baby? Not many. Some might have their mothers watch their child, but my mother, Patty, she wanted to spend time with us, rather than go to school. She worked a lot while I was growing up. My older sister would take care of me and my brother.…

Is Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus the innocent young teen you think she is? I can prove other wise. The real Miley Cyrus has a negative effect and is a bad role model for young girls along with her character in Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana”. I volunteer in a first-grade classroom twice a week and have seen what kind of effect Hannah Montana has on girls as young as six years old. They all want to be just like the Hannah Montana character they watch on television. She has her own line of clothing, which first graders come to school wearing. It’s ridiculous. These children look up to her and want to copy whatever she does. When she is doing all the age-inappropriate things; they do not see what Miley is doing, instead they see what Hannah Montana is doing. Miley is not setting good examples. I THINK HER RAUNCHY DANCING, PROVOCATIVE CLOTHING AND PROMOTION OF BOY-GIRL RALATIONSHIPS IS HIGHLY INAPPROPRITE FOR HER TARGETED AUDIENCE.…

My mother is a person who taught me how to live life without feeling helpless and with pride. She does such a wonderful job educating me to be a good person in life. I’ve learned from her that problems and sufferings are part of life and if they were not part of our life we wouldn’t know the real meaning of happiness. Whenever I feel sad or upset and even when I feel so happy I always talk with her just to share it with her. Also, one of the strongest reasons why I greatly admire her is her value, and respect she lives her life by.…

Mothers know and see everything; however, I never wanted to believe it was true. When I was short on money, needed a hot home-cooked meal or a shoulder to cry on, I would call my mother. I never took or valued my mother’s advice, but I always tried to learn from her mistakes. I failed to grow to my full potential when I had my mother to rely on. Few events in my 25 years of life demanded urgent self evaluation, maturity and reliance until the sudden passing of my beloved mother.…

My mother is a hard worker. She loves what she does for a living. She does arrangements for peoples’ houses. I’ve seen her work from 7 a.m. to midnight at times. The hard work pays off but most of her earnings go to bills or groceries. When she has a new project, she goes shopping for flowers to make what mental image she has in her into reality. The beautiful aroma that her flowers leave in her work room dazzles my nostrils. The presence of love greets you kindly when you’re with a good person. I express my love towards my mom and get it back as well. My mother is the Lion looking after her cubs. Once I grow up – I’ll be on my own into the cruel world. I don’t cherish the time that I have right now with my mother as I should be doing. “I hope when you get your life all together, you come back and visit me and your dad.” An inspirational sentence my mother tells me all the time.…
