Guns Should Be Allowed In Schools

Since the birth of the United States gun control has been a constant in American’s lives. The “right to bear arms” which is the second amendment of the Bill of Rights has permitted citizens to be in possession of guns. Although this amendment sanctions the ownership of gun’s, there seems to be a continuous debate on the restriction and laws pertaining to the distribution and sale of guns. In the wake of countless catastrophic mass shootings, gun control has taken center stage in the media, polarizing the American people. Should the second amendment be repealed eliminating citizen use of guns, or should they just regulate and add tougher restrictions to be able to obtain a gun permit?

This causes me to feel outraged, your school is somewhere you go and should feel secure. Nowadays you need to be couscous of your surroundings, even at school. Americas children shouldn’t ever be exposed to gun violence they are the future, and it’s concerning to think that they will be raised to believe guns in schools are the norm. These shootings not only impact the students, but the communities around the school. Although I don’t think the Second Amendment should be repealed I do believe there should be the same regulations for each state in acquiring weapon permit. Each state should have the most restrictive rules “the most restrictive states are California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, and Hawaii” (Opelka, 2013). If every state had the same rules as these couple States, then maybe the United States gun control issue would diminish. Nonetheless, when we have states like “Alaska, Arizona, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi and Vermont who have Permit less Carry” (Opelka, 2013) this poses a danger to all American
