Thesis Statement – There is no doubt that this world would be a safer place without a license to carry, but we need to consider that guns are needed to hunt.
Possible introduction - A lot of questions were raised about the effects of everyone being allowed to carry guns. The rise of crime and murder are certain areas to think about being most impacted by the state carrying side arms. We also need to ask ourselves, how often are guns used for protection? Is the law helping citizens protect their family or is the law just making it easier to commit murder?
I – Are guns being used for protection? Is there enough prescreening done before selling a gun? Are citizens comfortable enough using a gun?
II - Are guns falling into the wrong hands due to this law? Gangs and guns Kids and guns
III – Are citizens taking the proper measures to secure their weapons? Should everyone one in the household be required to take a class on gun safety? Should all members of the household be required to learn how to shoot the gun?
IV – How does gun control affect the hunters? Many hunters depend on their guns in order to feed their family? Hunting is a major source of income for many
Possible conclusion – Although gun control is a very controversial subject, one thing is clear we need to seriously address this issue quickly. Until we get some kind of control over the purchase of weapons there are going to be many more senseless shootings. We have to find a way to prevent our youth from staring down the barrel of a loaded gun or being in prison for being on the other end of that gun.

We’ve all seen it in the newspapers- kids accidently killing their family, their friends, or even themselves. A pure, innocent life should not be taken because of the parent’s careless mistake of keeping a gun at easy access for children. In the recent years, this has been becoming a problem, especially for family with youthful kids. Young children should not be taught how to handle guns because they don’t have the understanding that a gun can potentially kill or seriously injure someone, they’re constantly being exposed to violent movies/videogames, and most kids do not know the difference between real and fake guns.…

It is to be believed that America’s public safety is being threatened by guns. There have been numerous events leading up to this accusation. Today, there is a rising debate whether gun control should be legalized or forbidden. There stand two sides of this dispute, one is for bearing arms and the other is against it. One could infer that one side remains superior over the other. In America majority vote rules, therefore the gun control laws remain not into effect due to the Second Amendment. The Second Amendment of the US Constitution reads, "A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to possess and bear arms shall not be infringed” (ProCon.org, np).…

If we have guns trigger accidentally due to lack of training from novice individuals, it can produce unwanted scenarios where students and teachers can’t function mentally. It should be advised that we look at guns from different perspectives of other individuals, for a shooting can affect a student’s or teacher’s ability to work. According to Dr. Mark Tulls’ article, “How to Cope With PTSD Symptoms Following a Shooting”, “gun violence, such as a shooting, can be particularly difficult to cope with for a number of reasons. First, shootings are unpredictable and uncontrollable. When something uncontrollable happens, it can lead to people to avoid situations or places that remind you of the shooting.” I can correlate this example to Post Traumatic Stress disorder, because if an individual is affected by a shooting incident this may lead for one to be hesitant in coming back to the same place (for example, classrooms or crowded places). Thus, shooting in general can affect a person’s ability to function daily, if post-traumatic stress syndrome…

Children not having the capacity to understand the devastation that comes with a high power weapon. In Reich, Culross, and Behrman’s article, they focus on the youth and gun violence. The evidence shows that legislators do not focus on the devastation by homicides and accidents by youths. Arguing that the access of guns ensures that youths unsupervised will have access to these guns and accidents are bound to happen. With guns being so accessible accidents are bound to happen, if the child can not process and does not have the brain capacity to understand then there is bound to be injuries or accidental homicides. Stating, “an estimated 58% of firearm deaths among children and youth under age 20 in 1998 were homicides” (Reich, Culross, Behrman, 2002). Giving evidence of an issue that has not had effective legislation to curve the problem due to peoples’ inability to give up firearms. Furthermore, the necessity of education through parents is vital to curve shootings of youths in the United States of America. The author states, “low safe storage in gun-owning households with children highlight the need for greater parent education and awareness about the risks that guns pose to children and youth” (Reich, Culross, Behrman, 2002). Firearms in the presence of children that can be used on accident for horrific acts are one of the major issues these authors bring up in the literature. The involvement of the community would lessen…

In 2008, sixty seven percent of murders were committed in the United States with guns, sixty seven percent is 10,886 out of 16,272 crimes that involved guns. (Agresti, James D) More gun control could decrease that number significantly. Gun constrictions will not hinder Americans hunting or hobbies, it will help stop the shooter from getting guns. Even though people think that guns are not a problem, there needs to be more restrictions on guns because it would decrease shootings and mass murders, it would reduce deaths and injuries associated with guns, and civilians do not need semi-automatic weapons.…

“The number of shootings (known as discharging of a firearm)[in Ireland]jumped by 54% between 2003 and 2007, from 211 incidents to 325”(“Gun crime alarm”). “In 2005, the most recent year for which official records exist, there were 11,346 gun-related killings in the United States. In England and Wales there were 50 homicides involving firearms during the reporting period from 2005-2006.” (“Recession”) In recent years we often hear about news of deadly shootings in what should have been peaceful times and cities. Consequently, there has been a heated and continuous debate on the limit of gun purchase and ownership. “Despite the increasing number of mass shootings in America, many voters still respect the right to bear arms as outlined in their constitution.”(Davis)Why? In this paper, I will analyze main reasons of the long-term legal gun ownership in western countries despite of the widespread doubts in recent years due to rising shootings. This paper proceeds in the following way. It begins with the most fundamental reason with respect to the law. It then goes on to say what guns enable people to do in daily life. Finally it ends up with the argument that we should not owe shootings to legal gun ownership but to the misusage of them. Founders of a number of western countries who introduced the constitution theorized that civilians should always be alert to the government, which may abuse its power or make mistakes. According to Article II of Amendments to the Constitution of the United States of America, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” In violent times, gun ownership is a basic element of civil defense and the US during the independent war is a good example. Obviously, you can do nothing without weapons, so oppressive governors can do whatever they want, whatever they like, whatever to their benefit. They can grab your belongings, they can pass…
