Defining moments is a frame work describing the complex decisions that leader are tasked.
The Futility of Grand Principles is to provide moral guidance with “Electric Fences “the act of “separating right from wrong, good from evil” Badaracco (1997). Managers are expected to beware of the fundamental principles that shape our judgment concerning laws, morals, society norm, human character or actions “that make civilized life possible”. Badararco (1997)
Managers deal with man y business problems that can causes intense personal consideration. While deciding what to do managers uncover their intimate values, by asking questions about how engaged they are about their values that form their characters. Badarcco (1997) creates a body of work with steps for dealing with dilemmas that requires managers to look for ways to “guide the decision making process”. According to Badaracco (1997) Managers should look for concrete ways of resolving right vs. wrong situations by using good behavior with good intentions.
The problems with the Grand Principles:
• Mission statements describe high level of principals & pledges from a firm and typically refer to some type of large social activities. Mission statements are designed to inform the public what their organization is about. They are supposed to make people interested in your business. Mission statements should be able to tell your audience about the organizations direction and future. According to Badaracco (1997) Most company’s mission statements do little to solve any real problems. According Badaracco (1997).Mission Statements are not always clear, they are often vague and constructed with little thought and do not cover a multitude of situations Badaracco (1997)

• Legal responsibilities are concerned with laws that enforce obedience within society. Often times organizations try to use the law in ethical dilemmas because the law acts as an instrument that sets rules and rules and regulations that apply to
