Government Persuasive Speech
"Open the door!" spoke a bulky military gentleman with a gun in his hand. "What’s going on?" My mother asked with a voice of panic and confusion. “They are here for us.” My father informed us as he began to pack our suitcases. "Just gather your items and go! If you are not out of this apartment in 15 minutes, you and the masses living here will be shot dead!” complained the bulky man with a voice comparable to nails being dragged on a chalkboard. With the dismay of dying, following orders became the best thing to do. In less than 12 minutes of standing outside with our suitcases, the concern that was inside us advanced. To our bewilderment, the generality in the building was evacuated as well. However, within 4 minutes, the officers went back inside to investigate if other …show more content…
“Ladies and Gentlemen…” a belligerent voice aspiring from a speaker proceeded to speak. “You out of millions of people have been selected to go through a trial that the government is conducting inside this society. Hundreds of you have a special chemical in your blood that can be used as a cure for thousands of diseases. This is the reason why you have stayed immune all these years while the epidemic has wiped out masses. If you are staying here, you have to abide by our rules. You will have a curfew. By 8 o’clock at night, you are required to arrive back to your apartment. If you are meandering the streets after 8, you will be simply shot with no deliberation.” My heart submerged into the pit of my stomach. This is completely barbaric and unjust. They have no remorse, and building a wall that isolates us from the rest of the world is demeaning, distasteful, and austere. In a matter of time, all of us would have our cruel fate

I just got to my apartment from the grocery store and I was fumbling through my keys looking for the one that says 1408. That key happened to be my apartment key. I had a magnificent view from my window since I lived on the fourteenth flour of the Manhattan building. This also happened to be the top floor. I checked my mail box next to my door that said Tom Broadway on it, but there wasn’t anything in there. As I walked through my door way I set my twelve gauge Remington semi automatic shotgun down next to the door and turned on the TV. The news was on and it was talking about the rumors of the nuclear warfare and the panic it caused and then I heard a knock at the door. I leaned forward and got out of my lazy boy recliner. As I walked to the door cautiously with ease I grabbed my gun. I made sure my safety was off; I made sure I had one in the chamber. I then assumed it to the ready position by putting it to my broad shoulder and said “Who is it?” in a very assertive voice.…

The guard who had flung the door open didn’t even take away his hand off the handle, and I saw his black uniform sleeve. He stood behind the doorway letting a woman out, slanting forward. So I just hit his sleeve to slacken his grip on the door-handle, then seized it and jerked the man out. The guard flew out of the door across the sidewalk and landed on a roadway. I jumped inside and locked the door. Anyway, they had no right to shut the doors on all the customers this way; even if the bank died they had at least answer properly to all the phone calls. Just to make sure the guard wasn’t run over by some car I peered through a peephole; he was alright, vainly pressing a switched-off buzzer at the door. Although he apparently had some phone, or could borrow one, he wouldn’t easily call his bank. I had at least ten minutes before they start searching me and certainly find me. These minutes I had to find the President’s office, get in and start talking with him, importantly enough, or at least in a way he would feel the danger, so I wouldn’t be thrown…

At 4am dispatch received a call from the resident at 137 West Alexander Drive, who claimed to have heard a scream from his neighbours house. Captain Jason Long turned the case over to Officer Brice Tyler, Officer Lily Rayne, and I. At approximately 4:30am we arrived at the house knocking on the door. The young man answered with a smile on his face. I had noted that he seemed wide awake, as if he had been up for some time, as he invited us inside. We told him of our cause of being there, and he immediately told us the old man was visiting his sister in another town. He did not give us more details. instead, he showed us that the old mans belongings were exactly in there proper place. Afterward, he asked us to sit down in the bedroom, chatting easily about his evening. Soon after, he seemed to become agitated, raising his voice and speaking angrily. He was soon pacing and hitting the table, threatening us to make us stop agonising him, even though we did not say a threatening word to him.…

When signing up to be an organ donor you usually think only your major organs will be used; however, something as small as a ligament of yours is used in popular surgeries such as anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructions. When someone tears their ACL they usually have a choice to have an autograft, or use one of their own ligaments, but they can also choose to have an allograft, or take a cadaver’s ligament to repair it. Each has it’s advantages and disadvantages, but I personally think that the better option is the allograft because I think the advantages are better than using your own ligament from another part of your body. The advantages consist of faster operative time, less post-operative pain, and a faster recovery time.…

That day I saw two blue buses parked outside of the emergency room entrance. The crew lifted out three individuals that were barely recognizable; they were all unconscious and hooked up to various machinery. They were quickly transported inside the hospital. At that moment, I had witnessed a transformation: men—who were once the epitome of justice and freedom—now twisted and grotesque victims suffering from various degrees of burns and other injuries from our occupation in the Middle East. This was a reality check for me. I was no longer watching news segments from the BBC or CNN on television in the comfort of my own home; I was seeing this in real time. I began to wonder if their families knew where they were or worse…

Over a period of time, the once ambidextrous and benevolent American society had retrogressed into the quintessence of belligerence; where its people were once amicable, they turned dour and insidious, and when they had once had opulent homes, they lived unkemptly in abodes bereft of comfort. A worldwide holocaust had put every country on the planet in jeopardy; many bombs were deployed from an alien spaceship, which had the intimation and guise of an eagle, and which meticulously destroyed even the buildings most impervious to disaster and adulterated the sky with dense smog. While many were averse to fighting the aliens, a few brave men warily clambered up some rubble and began to hurl gibes, which grew less and less tentative over time,…

PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of life-threatening events such as the military combat, natural disasters, terrorism incidents, or any major tragedy. This is common in the life of veterans and is the leading cause of suicide among veterans. A VA patient who survived in Baghdad shares his experience with PTSD and explains how he knew he had this disability. Many veterans speak out about this issue and describe their continuous anger, alcohol addiction, and constantly wanted to fight. They usually feel very isolated and distant from their loved ones. One patient states, “PTSD involves rocketing into extreme states of stress re-activity; in the form of terror, rage, and uncontrollable impulses, and plunging into equally extreme states of being shut-down—exhaustion, emotional numbing, despair, and dissociation”. PTSD is about having fear and anxiety, allowing veterans to rage with anger and different emotion. There are many factors to PTSD, which affects others in different ways; or example, using video games to keep them occupied, spending money due to the lack of impulse control because of changes in their brain, and even not obtaining another job.…

Attention Getter: I would like to start my presentation off by telling you all to ask yourselves a series of fairly straight forward questions. I want you to take a look at you’re, any hand and ask your selves “Who’s hand is this?” Do the same with your other hand, and now both legs and your arms if you would like. If I am not mistaking the answer to all your questions are mine right. They are your hands, legs, and arms.
