Google Executive Summary Google, comes from the word "googol," a mathematical value for a number representing 100 zeros following the numeral 1. Using that term reflected the founder’s undertaking to sort out in an organized manner the virtually never ending quantity of information that was put on and searched for on the web. The two guys that came up with, Larry Page and Sergey Brin first became aquatinted at a Stanford campus orientation 1995. 22 year old Larry, a U Michigan grad, is contemplating attending Stanford and 21 year old, already student Sergey is the one who shows Larry around the campus. According to some accounts, they disagree about most everything during this first meeting. In 1996, both Stanford computer science grad students, they set in motion joining forces creating a search engine named BackRub. After more than a year using Stanford servers for their creation taking up too much University bandwidth, they decide to rename the search engine. Andy Bechtolsheim wrote a check for $100,000 to Larry and Sergey for their conception that did not even exist yet, a company called Google Inc. In 1998 September 4th Larry and Sergey file for incorporation in California and go deposit that money in an account that they just opened for their founded company, Google. Historical facts December in 1998, “PC Magazine” states that Google "has an uncanny knack for returning extremely relevant results" and recognizes it as the search engine of choice in the Top 100 Web Sites for 1998 (Google Corporation, n.d., p. 1). May 2000, the first 10 language versions are released. That next June Google announces first billion-URL index, therefore becoming the world 's largest search engine. January 2003 American Dialect Society members vote "Google" the "most useful" Word of the Year
