GOALS OF PROFESSIONAL LEARNING EXPERIENCE
This is a list of several examples explaining how the course work related to the goals and standards of NAEYC, and CEC. Goal Two- Multiculturalism, Globalism and Diversity:
During this course we learned how today’s students come from different cultural backgrounds.
Each student shared with the rest of the class a multicultural picture book and discussions followed regarding:
The diversity in today’s classrooms.
The importance of accepting and respecting each other.
Introducing words from different languages.
Showing the similarities and differences among students, and familiarizing with various cultures.
Outcome 1: Knowledge of usage to oral languages and specific literacy skills for young Children.
Outcome 13: Recognition of appropriate modifications in language-related experience for children from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
NAEYC standard 1: Promoting child development and learning:
Through class activity each student designed a “center” and described the kinds of materials and props used in the center for the growth and development of students needs such as: cognitively, linguistically, and emotionally.
Outcome 2 : Knowledge of and skill in applying approaches to encourage the development of listening skills.
Outcome 11: Knowledge of relevant learning standards in the language arts for young children Goal Five- Application of Professional Learning:
Through group work, students practiced writing lesson plan(s) with suggestions for different activities related to the story read aloud.
Each student also presented a game supporting a lesson that develops students cognitive skills.

In class activity, every student reads aloud a picture book with music and rhythm because it is a support for emergent literacy. It helps students to concentrate, build imagination,
