Girl Scout Law
In 1912 Juliette Gordon Low started a Girl Scout troop in Savannah, Georgia. The Girl Scout Promise and Law were created to help guide girls in their daily lives.

On my honor I will try;
To serve God and my country,

I am courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do- Sometimes you have to have courage and be strong to stand up for people who are being made fun of, and to make sure that when I say and do something that it doesn’t hurt anyone else.

    From past experiences I have learned the real meaning of respect. This word is more powerful than one can imagine. With respect comes unselfishness. When people respect others, they are treated equally. My mother and father always told me to be tactful in the way I treated others, so I would also be respected. It has worked in the past and will always hold true in the future. If someone respects another with proper judgment, people feel good inside which gives them a sense of integrity. When I give respect and witness how it makes others feel, I feel like more of a person. I feel proud. Honored.…

    Since middle school, I have been involved in numerous local beach and river cleanup events. In Nature Academy I was able to design my own community service project. During 7th grade, I banded together with a few fellow classmates and we decided to clean up the streets of Felton one staple at a time. The state of the poles there were horrible; covered in the metal pieces from prior flyers posted there. After several weeks and hours, we had defeated the evil staples. In 8th grade, I had done some more community service on a smaller scale. By helping out in the community garden at school, I had helped the crops grow, that were then disbursed to families in need of fresh…

When I was a little kid, I was always told to respect my elders which meant I was not to talk back to them or make fun of them and I was to listen to them when they spoke. Inside the dojang I show respect to everyone in my Soo…

    Do on to others, as you would want them to do to you. I think this basic principle or saying is very powerful. If everybody abided by it the world would not have as many problems as it does now. For example people wouldn’t steal because they wouldn’t want their possessions to be stolen or robbed. People wouldn’t kill each other because they wouldn’t want to be killed themselves. This is a saying my parents always drilled into my head ever since I was a few years old and it stuck with me all these years. I try to respect everybody because I like to be respected back. This is the second trait I would like others to remember me…
