FR Medieval Europe and Islamic empire
During the time period of 600 c.e to 1200 c.e, the two societies,the Islamic empires and Medieval Europe both had the technological innovation of games and recreations that were played throughout the whole society. A difference among societies were that the Islamic empire had a more enlightened society in natural science, in contrast to Medieval Europe who had little knowledge about natural science. Another similarity that the two societies had were the value in literary technologies and processes.
Both places had development of games and recreation that were played among all ranks of society . The Islamic society had the game of Chess. Imported first from india, this game was widely popular through men and woman. Even Caliphs would invite the Champions of chess to have matches. In Medieval Europe, they also had the game of Chess. This game was also popular. They used this game for entertainment and also gambling. This game was also played among all ranks of society, even through the clergy.
A difference that both of the communities had was how the Islamic empires were more enlightened with the concept of Natural science in contrast to Medieval europe. The Islamic people developed the concept of natural science more than Medieval Europe . For example, they made great advancements in zoology. This was because their trade and economic systems were very dependent on their used of animals. They made books like The Book of Animals and The Uses of Animals. In Medieval Europe, their resources were limited. The only natural science that was learned came from popular encyclopedias that were from Pliny and other Roman scholars. Medieval students might have learned that dragons were scared of mice and that elephants could change their sex.
