In a few weeks Thane got out. Ty had 7-on-7 tryouts and he made the team. If the team won all of their playoff games they would get to play in Miami on Super Bowl Sunday. They won most of their games and got to go to Miami to play their playoff games. While down there, he met a girl that he liked named Tate. Unfortunately, Troy, her best friend, didn’t like Ty. Troy was on a team that Ty would have to play if his team made it to the championship.…
Yes, I would recommend this book to a friend because it was a very touching story. For example, Hope's father dying really showed how much she loved him. This book was easy to understand and to comprehend. The story was good for a young reader, not a more advanced reader. The story was a relatable vibe that a young athlete would understand. I would one hundred percent recommend this book to an athlete.…
Book Review: Friday Night Lights takes place in 1998 when H.G. Bissinger a journalist decided to follow a football team in Texas. He finally chose Permian High which has a population of over 90,000 people. H.G. Bissinger soon finds out that football for the Panthers wasn’t ordinary. Football was life for the players, and reasonably so, they had won the past five state championships in a row. In my mind Friday Night Lights focuses on three major keys. It shows the dreams of the players, they pressure the athletes had with the community and their family, and also the commitment from the school. In the book, you notice how some dreams had been crushed, the player that shows it the most it Booby Miles, a running back who was set to have an outstanding…
What makes these novels so great is that one does not need to be a football fan to enjoy the novels. The novels have something for nearly everyone with their humor and comedy parts to their adventure parts. The crux of the novels is that when people work together they can overcome challenges; they can beat anyone in sports and in life situations. Troy and Ty are the lead characters in the series who have special talents that they use in their sporting endeavors. They appear together in some of the novels and as single leads in most of the novels.…

All the main conflicts of this story are presented to the audience in the first act. Troy is vehemently against letting his son experience the abuse he suffered in sports due to the color of his skin. He wants to protect his son from the life that he lived. The book, Jim Thorpe, was very interesting I thought. It was interesting because he always did more than one sport and all the sports he did participate he was amazing in all of them. He was amazing at what he did. Everybody liked the way he played his…
In the novel, Football Champ, There is a boy named troy who has to lead his team, and the NFL’s biggest star, to victory. I bet you don’t know a twelve year old that can predict game winning football plays, well now you do. Troy is the Atlanta Falcons best player, even though he isn’t actually a player he can think like one, he knows the right calls to play at the right time, and that can even lead his own team to victory and possibly make it to the NFL someday too. That is, if a reporter with a history doesn’t ruin it for him. This is an essay showing determination and kindness throughout the book and in real life today.…
I chose the novel “Looking for Alaska” by John Green, because I already read a reading sample in my English lessons in Germany from this book and I really liked the style of writing the author used. I also chose this novel, because many of my friends said it was a good book and worth reading, besides the fact, that the book is well-known for some of its quotes (“If people were rain, I was drizzle and she was a hurricane”) and the awards it won (Michael L. Printz Award). The author is also known for his book “The fault in our stars”, which is another one of his four books.…
* Miles Manning- Miles is kind of a round, to a dynamic character. He’s the main character of the book, and most things revolve around him. He has conflicts with his dad, and how he always tries to make Miles perfect, and never congratulates him for the good things he does. He also is blamed by his new coach for everything that goes wrong with the team.…
Another thing Troy fails to realize is that along with getting recruited for football, Cory will also be able to afford much better education due to the scholarship he is getting. If Troy really just wanted to protect Cory from being…

The book is also, in part, an exploration of some of the meanings that football seems to contain for many of us.…
A variation on the standard football movie plot, Facing the Giants takes place in a Christian high school, where coach Grant Taylor is trying to keep the school's football program alive. The team isn't winning, the players are apathetic, and some of the parents are trying to have Grant replaced. When we first see him go home to his wife, we learn that Grant's also having problems off the field, the film begins stacking the odds so high against Grant that it flirts with outright melodrama, his car won't start, his home is in a state of disrepair, he and Brooke can't conceive, money is running out, and most folks just plain don't like him.…
