In the modern times, food security gradually became one of most important global issues. It is closely related to our lives. If there are problems with the food that we eat every day, how we can maintain our health. Like these questions in the movie “Food, INC”---how much do we really know about the food that we buy at our local supermarkets and serve to our families? Before I watch this movie, I really don’t know how this food comes from. I even think it does not matter. They are meat that comes from animals, how bad it can be. However, now I know the food security is much important, it can cause life threatening. Also, I know how those big companies control the food production, and why they control it, that is why these foods that we eat everyday have security problems.
The food industry is one of the most important industries in every countries. People have to eat food everyday, As long as there are human beings, the food industry will be able to continue. With the development of science and technology, some companies began to looking for methods to earn more and more money. The most effective method is to lower the cost by some technology. In the movie “Food,INC”, we see these companies to reduce their cost by several ways. First of all, they change the animal's feed. For example, cattle are grazing animals, but they feed cattle corn, just because the corn is much cheaper than the other fodders. They don’t care the fodder has any impact on cattle. Next, they using genetic engineering on animals and plants. People like to eat white meat of chicken, so they make the chicken
breast meat bigger and begger and speed up the chicken’s growth cycle. These chickens only have 7weeks life. They can’t walk because their bone is not sufficient to support their bodies to stand on the ground. During their whole life, they just live in a huge and dark house, never see the sunshine.
