Five Guys: A Success story

Introduction
Success can be defined as the achievement of something desired, planned, or attempted (2013). Some say success it’s only a mere standard we strive for in order to compensate for the things we don’t have. However you may define success obviously everyone wants to live the American dream. With over 570 locations in the United States alone (Kurtz, 2012), I think it’s safe to say The Five guys fast food chains has surly discovered the key to success. Five guys have endured immaculate success not only because they have great burgers, but also because they have a philosophy that sets them apart from the competing fast food chains. It captures, in a few succinct sentences, the essence of a business 's goals and the philosophies as well as underlying them. Equally important, the mission statement signals what your business is all about to your customers, employees, suppliers and the community (Goodman, 2011). The Five Guys mission statement is very simple, aligned with the philosophy that you don’t just sell hamburgers and French fries in the restaurant industry that is jam packed with fast food chains and think you going to be successful. You sell hamburgers and French fries better than your competitors, you don’t cut corners and customer services are the most important thing. Simply stated, the Five Guys Burgers and Fries mission statement is: "We are in the business of selling burgers." (Farfan) Their goal is also as followed: "Five Guys goal is to sell the best quality burgers possible. To sell the best burger possible, we focus on Quality, Service, and Cleanliness." …show more content…
This is one of many reasons why five guys has become such the success we know it as today. Five Guys restaurant chains toast their buns on a grill as opposed to using a bun toaster which is much faster ("Five guys burgers," ). Five Guys also use eighty percent lean, never frozen, and burgers as well as fries are always made to order ("Five guys burgers," ). Five Guys uses only the freshest ingredients’ to cook and serve to its customers Fine ingredients and toppings cost more ("Five guys burgers," ). This is a sacrifice Five Guys is willing to make in order to satisfy customers. All of their burgers are cooked well done ("Five guys burgers," ). By doing this Five Guys can ensure a consistent product and meet or exceed health code standards for ground
