As speech and language are central to communication as a whole the early identification of any issues in respect of development of these capabilities are critical, as an issue can become self fulfilling, making issues with development / communication worse, thus any intervention that can facilitate and encourage communication can be useful in alleviating the issue.

Without correct intervention the child can become withdrawn, due to communication difficulties, both from their peers and from education as a whole, this can impact self esteem and confidence. However with the correct approach the child can be encouraged to reach their potential, whilst being encouraged to communicate any issues. 10. Explain how multi agency teams work together to support,

Explain how different types of transition can affect children and young peoples development.

There are four defined transitional states that can impact children and young adults detrimentally. These are, emotional, physical, Intellectual and physiological, these break down for instance as:
Emotional: separation or death of relative.
Physical: moving home, changing nursery or place of education
Intellectual: emotional growth and understanding
Physiological- puberty or disabilities

All of these transitions can have an impact on the child and can result in withdrawal / lack of confidence, which can result in anti social behaviour or regression of development.

13. Evaluate the effect on children and young people of having positive relationships during periods of transition. You may find it useful to use work products to support your evidence.

Having positive relationships can mitigate the impacts of transitions, as a child with a positive relationship can discuss the transition, receive encouragement and a sense of stability. Additionally a positive relationship can explain the transitional nature and justify the change which will allow the child to understand the disruption and be accepting of the
