The definition of selfless is “concerned with more of the needs and wishes of others than with one’s own, unselfish (google).” This is what Chris McCandless’s life consisted of, many individuals disagreed with Krakauer about Chris being selfless. Chris began an adventurous journey heading to the Alaskan wilderness, throughout his journey he stumbles upon numerous encounters. Encounters between meeting new people, place to place, and exploring more of the world, what was known to Chris McCandless as outstanding. “Happiness is only real when shared” (Krakauer 189), Chris learned this a little too late for his tremendous adventures.
