Example Of Scholarship Essay
“With great privilege comes great responsibility.” Our Founding Fathers, through various confrontational years and vigorous disputes, conclusively made it possible for us to live in a nation of peace and pride. Such a deed deserves to be honored and is the reason for which we as citizens are responsible for conserving and respecting the ideals brought upon us. We as Americans hold an immense obligation in preserving the nation's superior state and in constructing a better world for future generations to come. Millions of immigrants step foot in America every day, their thoughts consumed by the American Dream of happiness and opportunity. When my family first entered the United States, their motivation was of liberty and success. Such an inspiration …show more content…
Such a document defines the standards of our nation and models for us the established justice system. We, being part of the United States of America, obtain the essential responsibility in preserving and symbolizing it. As citizens, we are to embody such a system and exhibit the righteous characteristics left to us by our Founding Fathers. Those of leadership, integrity, loyalty and patriotism. I must attempt to display such features in a proud and loyal manner in order to embrace and cherish them. Apart from this, I am required to abide and uphold all laws, as they are of written value and necessary in the structuring of an amicable society. Such behavior compels our respect towards these regulations as well as other individuals beliefs and opinions. As a citizen, I am responsible for regarding the thoughts of others, thus allowing us to live in a nation disciplined around order and peace. This concept of peace is a major focus for our country, as many factors play a role in the determining of its state in our country. Those of conflict, leaders and character. We as Americans have the privilege of controlling such factors through the form of voting. While such an option is seen as a choice, it is fundamental in the creation of a better tomorrow and should be completed by all who are permitted. Such a privilege should never be taken for granted, but honored as we are responsible

In our time we have come to live with moments of great crisis. Our lives have been marked with debate about great issues; issues of war and peace, issues of prosperity and depression. But rarely in any time does an issue lay bare the secret heart of America itself. Rarely are we met with a challenge, not to our growth or abundance, our welfare or our security, but rather to the values and the purposes and the meaning of our beloved Nation.”…

I still remember being in an eighth grade U.S. History class back in my junior high years. One distinct memory of that course, perhaps the most memorable of all the projects we had, came in the first month of the school year, in the curriculum’s first unit: the founding of the United States as its own nation. As the textbook timeline approached 1787 we prepared ourselves for a daunting task: memorize and recite the Preamble of the U.S. Constitution. We as students would wait anxiously as, one by one, each of our peers would step up to the front of the classroom and begin to recite from memory. Few people could recite the Preamble smoothly, but for those who stumbled, we all seemed to remember perfectly the first and last chunks: “We the People of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union…” and “…do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.” To us back in eighth grade, that missing middle section was just a group of words to be more-or-less forgotten the next day. To our forefathers, however, that middle section was vital in creating the basis for the supreme law of the United States.…

My parents immigrated to the United States from El Salvador before I was born, leaving behind 5 kids, the youngest nine months and oldest thirteen years of age. Leaving behind their children was one of my parents’ hardest choice, but they believed that in the future it would have the best outcome. My parents had lived a dirt-poor life in El Salvador due to the Civil War that was going on the in the 1980s. They came to the U.S. in hopes of giving their children a better life, they put their all into their jobs until eventually they could bring my siblings to the United States for the better life every child deserves. Knowing this did nothing but show me that anything is possible if you work hard and strive for only the best.…

Psychology as a whole has seen many major changes since it began. Take Sigmund Freud, the "Father of Modern Psychology", for instance. He was once the leading psychologist in the world, but now the majority of his ideas have been debunked or cast aside. Not too long ago, a large majority of psychologists were firmly rooted in the idea that a human being was a conglomeration of behaviors that could be changed through conditioning. To those psychologists, people were the sum of their behaviors. Today, behaviors are still important part of psychology, but much more emphasis is placed on thoughts and emotions.…

Discipline, as a verb, is defined as training (someone) to obey rules or a code of behavior, using punishment to correct disobedience. Using this definition I found two example of discipline in the bible. In the bible we can see the verb disciple being not just spoke but shown to us. In the beginning of the bible it starts out in Genesis where we can see the first example of discipline. This is just the beginning of the lessons of discipline that we are given to learn from. We can see the same verb used by God to redirect our thinking and change our mindset. God is not only is trying to correct us in our wrongs but he genuinely wants to see us grow in our relationship with him. This creates an example of positive discipline that we are a part of everyday. Another place that we can see great discipline is in the life, crucifixion and death of Jesus. In this essay I will explain to the reader how the two…

The United States prides itself in the multitude and strength of the rights it provides its citizens. Whether a citizen is born in the United States or immigrates to it, these rights are equally guaranteed to all American citizens. The mission of the United States government is to provide liberty and justice, which in turn leads to tranquility, prosperity, and happiness. The founders of the United States wrote up the Constitution to try to fulfill this task and build a better nation. Ever since the creation of the government, laws, amendments, and bills have been passed and rejected. All created by the federal, state, and local governments to aid in the creation of a better tomorrow for the country. As the law is laid down in this country, every person in the populace either chooses to abide by the laws or ignore them. The dilemma is that people have different opinions and interpretations on laws that are created.…

One of the most crucial issues facing women today is whether or not a woman is ready to run this country as President of the United States. Politics has always seemed to me to be a "boys club" mentality no matter where or when. There seems to be a thought process that women don't belong in politics because they are too nice, too innocent or too naive. There is even the notion by some men that women do not possess enough education to become a politician or that women do not possess the "kill or be killed" attitude that would come in handy, especially as President in a time of war or conflict.…

I believe the single most important societal problem we face today is that our generation thinks they should just be handed everything without having to work for it. This is a big problem because kids now that get everything they want. The kids that are like this are bound to fail when they get out in the real world. Our generation is going to grow up and not know what to do when a boss or supervisor tells them no because that’s what they’ve been use to all their lives. But I’m glad to say I’am not one of these people. I started working when I was fifteen umpiring at Chesterfield baseball fields. When I turned sixteen I picked up another job in the warehouse at CBennett Building Supplies to make more money. And now…
