Evidence Based Nursing Practice Summary

The primary focus on evidence-based nursing practice(EBP) is critical in nursing practice. The evidenced-based practice uses the best research available and practice guidelines specific to a clinical situation. EBP guides nursing practice and provides the best quality care and patient outcome. Evidence-Based practice involves a review of research and studies to determine the best practices. The evidence-based nursing practice increases the nurse’s knowledge, skills, and experience. It also helps reduce healthcare cost and the issues relating to geographic variation when providing healthcare. (McEwen, M., & Wills, E. M. (2014).
In other to improve nursing practice, the nurse review, appraised and synthesized literature from relevant theories and apply the evidence into practice. Research is used in nursing to change practice, education and health policy
