Make sure to zip tip the firearm down as well as zip tie trough the barrel to show that the firearm is safe. Magazines can be zip tied down and packaged in the same gun box. The serial number, model, make, and caliber of the firearm need to be recorded. If a firearm has blood or other material on it, make sure to surround it in clean paper and tape down the paper (Crime Scene Investigator Network). It should be noted that photographs should be probative, not prejudicial in nature. Photographs that both parties have agreed to will be easily entered into evidence. However, if one party does not agree to allow the photograph into evidence, the party that wants the photograph to be admitted into evidence must be willing to question a witness for their testimony, often the person that took the photograph, to establish that the photograph actually depicts the correct crime scene. For example, crime scene investigators will often be asked to testify that they did indeed take the photograph in question in order to lay down the foundation for the evidence that it contains as well as to show that the photograph is authentic and unaltered (Staggs, …show more content…
According to Federal Rules of Evidence, Article X rule 101(3) data that is “stored in a computer or similar device, any printout or other output readable by sight, shown to reflect the data accurately, is an original” (Staggs, 2001). “Rule 101(4) states that a duplicate is a counterpart produced by the same impression as the original…by mechanical or electronic re-recording…or by other equivalent techniques which accurately reproduces the original. And Rule 103 (Admissibility of Duplicates) states a duplicate is admissible to the same extent as an original unless (1) a genuine question is raised as to the authenticity of the original or (2) in the circumstances it would be unfair to admit the duplicate in lieu of the original. This means a photograph can be stored digitally in a computer, that a digital photograph stored in a computer is considered an original, and any exact copy of the digital photograph is admissible as evidence” (Staggs,

The first thing I would do is make sure the gun is unloaded. Then I’d mark the firearm for identification purposes. To preserve any fingerprints and gun powder residue, I would pick it up from the trigger guard or checkered part of the grip. If I find a gun in water, I have to keep it submerged so it doesn’t rust. Lastly, I would place it in a separate envelope.…

The next step is for the investigator to take notes of the crime scene. The process of note taking should be extensive, containing even notes they may seem insignificant but may become valuable evidence later (Fisher & Fisher, 2012). At this point evidence should not be moved or touched. Next pictures are taken at the crime just as it happened. The pictures should include scales to show accuracy in the evidence produced. Next is sketching the areas where the evidence was found is a way to support the picture evidence at court. The sketches should be accurate and contain measurements of the scene.…

Native American cultures did not yet know how to work metal, but quickly learned to use firearms and acquired them through trade. Champlain tried to block guns from leaking into Native culture, real izing that it would undercut his military advantage. He was able to win his battle on Lake Champlain in 1609 because guns had not yet fallen into the hands of the Mohawks. Other European traders were not so careful. The English traded guns for fur pelts, but only with their allies. The Dutch trading out of New Amsterdam (now New York) were less discriminating. They sold arquebuses to anyone. Na tive traders soon learned the value of guns and made access to them the price of trade. As a result, guns poured into the interior and were soon being…

Currently there are no laws or regulations in place that require private sales, gun show sales or internet sales to perform a background check during a firearm purchase unlike federally licensed firearm dealers. This leaves a loophole open for criminals to purchase firearms leading to more gun violence such as mass shooting and robberies. Gun violence can be reduced by requiring background checks for all guns sales, expanding background checks to include mental health status, and better reporting by law enforcement agencies to maintain accurate information in the database.…

If the retired police officer did not have the concealed weapon, there may have been a fist fight or an argument, but the other man would not have died. Studies have shown that any situation is 4.5 times more likely to turn lethal with a weapon of any sort involved. Concealed weapons are a hazard to the situation becoming lethal and increase chances of people getting hurt.…

On Friday, December 14 there was a shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary. A man shot an entrance into the school, through the front office and then continued toward the classrooms. He walked into a Kindergarten classroom of 14 innocent 4 and 5 students and a substitute teacher, in which he shot all of them. He continued toward a first grade classroom in which he shot the teacher and six of the students. This is all could have been stopped if a citizen with a Concealed Carry Permit, CCP, was near during the incident. A school isn't allowed to have guns on campus and that makes it all the bit more easy for a shooter to walk in and not be stopped. Concealed weapons should be legal in all states because it is a right of the US citizen, can stop…
