I would send more of a casual message to my family, friends, or a classmate just to let them know everything is ok. My letter to the insurance company o the other hand has to be more professional and has to have many more details because they need to know exactly what happened at the accident.

Dear Family, I was in a minor car accident earlier this afternoon. Do not worry no one was hurt, but I was a little shaken up when it happened. There is some damage to the car but nothing to major. The other person’s car has just the same amount of damage but we have it all under control and contacted the police and the insurance companies. It is mostly just our bumpers and a little bit of the hoods that was damaged but nothing else really. Do not worry I will call you as soon as I get the chance. Love Truly, Alesha

Dear Insurance Company, I Alesha Hatella was in a minor car accident earlier this afternoon. There was very little damage to both of our cars. No one is hurt, I was just a little shaken up when it happened. The damage includes the bumpers are wrecked and the hoods are bent in on our vehicles. The other driver and I were coming to a stop and the roads were a little icy so we slid right into one another. I have the other drivers information included just in case you need that as well. Please contact me if you need any additional information. (715)702-1348. Thank-You Alesha Hatella.

Anthony, when you are writing in a class forum it is definitely important to use inclusive language because you never know who is going to be reading your messages male or female. You need to keep your responses mutual with both men and women because in your case you did not want to come off sexist but you did because you mentioned mostly men in your post. You could have avoided your mistakes by using the word business woman instead of lady. You also good of used both men and women and your statement that

Saturday afternoon on 7/31/12, i was patrolling in front of Bill's Card Shop when i noticed a customer leaving the Sports Bar & Grill. The customer appeared to have trouble walking, but they were not causing any trouble. As i continued patrolling the grounds i heard a crash, and i immediately went to go see what had happened. When i arrived i saw two cars that had seemed to have struck each other in the parking lot in front of Bill's Card Shop. I proceeded to the accident and notice that a Black Ford Escort, driven by a 25 year old female and a Blue Honda Civic, driven by a 45 year old male i saw leave the Sports Bar and Grill had collided. The Blue Honda Civic apparently backed into the Black Ford Escort, with the information gathered i called…

A key point to keep in mind while communicating in a class forum is using inclusive language. Inclusive language is the practice of not excluding a certain gender in the text. Terms like “man,” and “woman,” can often offend others because it might sound like you are excluding, or alienating one or the other. Also pointing out that the presenter was a “business woman” and you were surprised that she had some good points may make someone think…

He was driving down a road where there was a bad accident on the other side, emergency vehicles such as fire trucks and ambulances were everywhere. His lane was pretty clear and moving however the car in front of him abruptly slammed and their brakes and stopped in the middle of the lane. My father did not have to react fully and when he slammed on his brakes his car was not able to come to a complete stop and ended up ramming into the car that stopped in front him. This car stopped to take a look at the accident that was the other side of the road which is just plain ironic since they ended up causing an accident of their own. Luckily in the accident my father was involved in both parties involved turned out okay and virtually unharmed. However, my father’s car is most likely totaled although we will not know for certain until we take it in to be checked. When people are in accidents due to distracted driving not everybody is so lucky, many distracted driving accidents are…

I had a neck brace around my neck and IV’s stuck all in my arms. I started to panic, I was lost, confused and scared. My best friend was there in the ambulance trying to calm me down. But still, all I could think about was the reaction of my parents when they found out what happened. Once we got to the hospital, the paramedics took me to Emergency Care. The doctors ran many tests on me: MRI’s, CAT Scans, and X-Rays, whatever test you can name – they ran on me. As I waited for my results, the doctors came in and explained to me what happened. An intoxicated driver with a gun ran the red light and hit me in a head on collision. The driver not only totaled my mother’s car but also totaled his own car too. The good thing was that he was okay. I didn’t know what to be happier about; the fact that the other driver was fine or that the accident was not my fault. Selfish right? But I’m sure if you were me at the time, you would think the same thing.…

One the tow truck finally came and took CoCo, my friend picked my sister and I up from the accident scene and drove us to the hospital. We sat in the waiting room for more than an hour in severe pain, just praying we would be next every time a nurse would come out prepared to call a name. Once we were finally called we were escorted to different hallways due to them not having even one room available. We were in so much pain and only given a cot to wait to be seen by a doctor. After forty-five minutes a doctor finally came, checked me and questioned me resulting in me being sent for x-rays and CAT scans. The results came back and turns out my neck, shoulder, wrist, and back were sprained. The drive back to school at four in the morning was so dreadful with the road being under construction and bumps all down the road. It took almost two months for me to fully recover, which to me was eternity. A few days after the accident, I returned home from school. Being back in Orlando it was time for me to begin working for the summer and realized it was going to be exasperating until I replaced my totaled car. The insurance company gave me back a good amount for a down payment on a new car. But, now it was time to research cars based on miles, color, year, and most definitely an affordable price. I became Déja the car guru with all the research I did on vehicles. Finally a month and half after my accident I found the…
