“That was a long time ago. But it’s wrong what they say about the past, I have learned about how you can bury it, because the past claws its way out. Looking back now, I realize I have been peeking into that deserted ally for the last twenty-six years.” (p.1) Khaled Hussein’s story of the The Kite runner showed a intensity of love, trust, and betrayal towards two completely different people. Amir the son of a wealthy man in the northern area of Kabul who develops a friendship with one of his servant named Hassan. As years journey, Amir had a chance to save Hassan but the way he acted affected their lives which led them to follow two separate paths in life. As young boys becoming emotionally, Amir and Hassan enjoyed doing everything together. Amir never considered Hassan as his friend. Amir felt this way because he knew that neither how their history is could change who they’re. Amir was a Pashtun and Hassan is a hazara, but they were kids, they fed from the same breast and they learned to craw together. Both of them knew that nothing was going to change. They used to play “hide and seeks, cops and robbers, cowboys and Indians, and they loved insect torture” (pg; 25). One of the most memorable times that Hassan and Amir Share together was under the pomegranate tree on top of the hill is where Amir read many stories to Hassan. Hassan is not educated and amir aftertimes make fun of him just because he don’t know how to read, one day Hassan and Amir took a knife to the top of the hill and carved their names in the tree. “ Amir and Hassan , the sultans of
