Cunegonde would escape along with her brother which that you would think she had it bad until you hear the story of the old woman. Also, I thought Candide was a punk and he had no heart until he found out what was going on with Cunegonde. Candide would become a savage that would kill the grand inquisitor and a Jew. This act showed me the growth of his character also cognitively he was still trying to figure out is if this would be what the great Pangloss would do. They would flee to Bueno Aires where she would marry the governor and Candide had no say so because of the people he killed.
The next little subplot I enjoyed was with Cacambo and Candide with how he also had Candide’s back.
