When I started reading The Lord of The Rings book 1 I thought that of a calm story about the travels of Mr.Frodo Baggins. Mr.Frodo Baggins is the main character of the novel The Lord of The Rings written by J.R.R Tolkien and is a fantasy world at war book. But as I read Lord of The Rings I saw the character Frodo Baggins turn from an adventurous hobbit to a great warrior and survivalist. The idealized images, the pictures of perfection, are what we usually see in advertisements nowadays. Commercials have become a great part that we encounter in our daily life; as a consequence, we are all affected by the perfect outlook of what showed on mass media. As a case in point, Americans are usually attracted by the greatly designed sport utilities vehicles. These vehicles are usually a symbol of an ideological value through the image of a powerful, break-through tool in order to conquer nature. Nonetheless, the gap between the mythic significance of the SUVs and reality is somehow undeniable. From historical to modern aspects, the legend of SUVs in stunning advertisements are sometimes just a disappointment. The idealized images, however, are often the symbol of how American life is viewed and lived. Thus, the differences between these images of perfection and reality not only illustrate an ambitious dream, but also confusion and the exploitation of historical values.…

Colleges and universities can expel students who are caught cheating on exams and or plagiarizing their homework assignments in order to increase their maturity and global awareness. All Universities should have a “voluntary agreement that the student will adhere to and be bound by the rules and regulations of the University” (Garner & Hubbell, 2013, p.76). Most students have deadlines for papers and are tempted by plagiarizing and most do not know to cite all sources. According to Lee (2013), “Academic misconduct by college students, plagiarism and cheating has increased since the beginning of the twenty-first century” (p. 4). There is always a zero policy when it has comes down to academic integrity. The Fellowship of the Ring is the first book in a trilogy of books. The main character is Frodo Baggins. Frodo is one of many unusual creatures that are not heard of normally in books called Hobbits. Hobbits are quiet, peace-loving, simple creatures. They enjoy leisure activities and generally do not like to take risks or go on adventures. Hobbits who like to do such things are looked down to by society, and are generally considered queer-folk. And this is a story about one of those hobbits and his friends.…

The Lord of the Rings- the Fellowship of the Ring, is the first book of a 3 book series made by the author J.R.R Tolkien. The Lord of the Rings basically deals with the Dark Lord Sauron, and his one ring of power, which was the strongest object of Middle Earth. The book starts with some major events which happened in The Hobbit, like when Bilbo Baggins found this ring inside a cave and takes it back to his house in a place called The Shire. Then, on his 111th birthday, Bilbo decided to pass on his ring he was carrying for years to his cousin, Frodo Baggins. But he couldn’t get rid of the ring as it was making him not to give to anyone. So, with the urging of Gandalf the Grey, a wizard of great abilities, he finally gave the ring to Frodo. Gandalf,…

The prologue, spoken by Galadriel, shows the Dark Lord Sauron forging the One Ring in order to conquer the lands of Middle-earth. A Last Alliance of Elves and Men is formed to counter Sauron's forces at the foot of Mount Doom, but Sauron kills Elendil, the High King of Men. His son, Prince Isildur grabs Elendil's broken sword Narsil, and slashes at Sauron's hand, separating him from the Ring and vanquishing his army. However, because Sauron's "life force" is bound to the Ring, he is not completely defeated until the Ring itself is destroyed. Isildur takes the Ring and succumbs to its temptation, refusing to destroy it. He is later ambushed and killed by orcs, and the Ring is lost in a river. The Ring is found by the creature Gollum thousands of years later, who takes it underground for five centuries, giving him "unnaturally long life." Since the Ring is bound to Sauron, it has a will of its own and wants to be found. Therefore, the Ring consciously leaves Gollum in its quest to be reunited with Sauron. However, it is instead found by the hobbit Bilbo Baggins, much to the despair of Gollum. Bilbo returns to his home in the Shire with the Ring, and the story jumps forward in time sixty years.…

The novel The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R Tolkien is set in a fanciful world filled with strange creatures and magical happenings, but not everything is so unlike our world. Many of the characters change over the course of the story, just as we do over the course of our lives. Frodo, the main character and the carrier of the magical ring, is part of the mythical race of Hobbits, yet he is remarkably human. He has the same values as we do, and his small size hides his big heart. His journey throughout the novel changes his life and his outlook on life. In the beginning he is content with his quiet life, and his voyage leaves him lusting after adventure. Of all the characters, however, I believe that the most realistic one is Aragorn. He grew up knowing that one day he would have to step up and become king of the land, but he didn’t want to be a ruler. He had heard the story of how the aura of the magical ring had poisoned the mind of his ancestor, and Aragorn did not want to meet the same fate. Aragorn was terrified of the powerful and evil ring, and so he fled into the forest, leaving his fate and his rank behind. By the end of the novel he realizes that he must become the king to save the country, and he accepts his role without complaint. He never wanted to become king, yet his journey made him realize that it is his destiny.…
