Effective Communication
Communicating involves conveying clear and unambiguously messages among individuals and receiving information that other individuals are sending (Mind Tools, 1995- 2010). Effective communication among organizations is essential for managers, employees, coworkers, business partners, and other resources to connect with each other successfully to obtain personal and professional goals (Hayes, 1996). Advancements in technology has given businesses the right tools for modeling, sharing information, and improving concurrence, enhancing manufacturing processes, and design flows (Hayes, 1996). Communicating effectively involves individual’s thoughts and ideas through methods of formal, informal, oral, and written communication as well as verbal and nonverbal communication (Lombardi and Schermerhorn, Jr., 2007). Organizations use a combination of communication methods to deliver a clear and consistent message (Lombardi and Schermerhorn, Jr., 2007). Even though the communication process and methods are extremely important to organizations success, sometimes it is not effective when messages involve careless errors; inaccurate information, misunderstandings, confusing details, and unreliable resources, and possibilities of reaching the wrong audiences (Mind Tools, 1995-2010).

Effective Communication Techniques In today’s society, there are several techniques being used to share information within organizations internally and externally. Some of these techniques include information technology, open communication, telephones, videoconferencing, letters, e-mail, memos, reports, radios, scanners, face-to-face meetings (weekly or monthly), and telecommunications (computer networks and Internet) (Mind Tools, 1995-2010). However, the most effective techniques for sharing information and ideas in my organization are the Internet, intranets, computer software, scanners, radios, and
