To continue, earthquakes are more dangerous than hurricanes because they can cause major water related issues. In "Earthquakes: effects" it states that when a earthquake breaks a dam or levee along a river, "the water from the river or reservoir floods the area, damaging buildings and sweeping away or drowning people,'" (paragrph 11). This determines that earthquakes can cause many things to malfunction, leading to destruction. Imagine that you have a house along a large river. If an earthquake were to suddenly occur, the flooding may become so powerful that it could sweep your house away!
