Parents play a big part in teens learning how to drive, parents can be a good role model to show a teen how to drive. In the article, “Distraction and Teen Crashes: Even Worse Than We Thought” produced by AAA discusses how much of a role distracted driving actually plays in teen crashes. For example it says, “AAA recommends that parents teach teens about the dangers of cell phone use and restrict passengers during the learning-to-drive process”(5). The author explains that parents need to play a definite role in teens learning to drive. By parents implementing the idea of not using cell phones while driving and not having people in the car, the teen is more likely to make a better decision when that situation happens. Another example would be, in the article, “Training --…

Do you trust your 17 year old son or daughter to get behind the wheel of a vehicle? Many people are against teen driving laws in America, but just as many are for the laws as opposed. Many teenagers always dream of driving a car, on the open road experiencing the freedom that comes along with your license. It is apparent that many teenagers are usually inexperienced when it comes to getting behind the wheel. Due to the fact to qualify for a License in some states all you need is sixty hours behind the wheel with a parent and fifteen hours in a driving class. Finally, after a defined period in the learning phase, unrestricted driving occurs, within the age of typically 17 or 18.…

When driving a car you have to know the basic functions such as knowing how to turn on the car, where the signals are and how to use them, which pedals is the brake and which one is the gas (this is especially important when driving because you do not want to crash by confusing the two). When learning to drive you can’t just jump in the car and drive where ever, because there is a process. First you have to get your learners permit and then you can practice driving with a licensed adult. Then after a small waiting period you can go and take what is called the road test. After a brief drive with an instructor, that tests your ability to drive, you pass and have your license. Finally, you are able to…

Most teenagers would love to drive as soon as possible, and luckily for those of us who live in Texas, one can obtain their permit from age 15. The only problem is doing Driver’s Education. In Texas you are required to take Driver’s Education sessions for at least 32 hours prior to receiving your permit. The fastest option takes approximately a month of self-taught work limited to 2 hours per day. While the more guided in school method can take up to 4-5 months to complete within one semester, it is bloated with less than critical information. These circumstances cause teens and many of their parents to find less ‘conventional’ and cheaper methods that lead to less informed and more dangerous drivers.…

The ability to drive a vehicle is a very dangerous privilege that must be taken seriously at all times. Many teenagers patiently await the time when they can drive. Being able to go places without their parents driving them is something all teenagers dream of. Although for some, the thought of teenagers driving creates an uneasy feeling. The legal teenage driving age has always been a controversial topic, there are several who support raising the legal age, but there are also ones that are against raising the age. In order to form an opinion, one must carefully consider: the maturity of teens, the fact that teens need to gain experience driving, the effects of not having a license will have on teens, the restrictions placed on new drivers,…

When I get my license I will be driving everywhere I will be driving all around the town of Vernon. I will drive my sister everywhere to dance class, to school. When I get my license my mom will make me drive to the food market. I see myself as a cautious driver but a very impatient driver. My attitude toward driving is freedom and I feel it’s more convenient. Having your license is Being able to give other people a lift , Being able to* transport things which would be too much to carry , Being able to get to somewhere quickly (especially in an emergency) ,Being able to get somewhere that public transport doesn't cover ,Keeping dry if it's raining, cool if it's hot, warm if it's cold ,In some cases travel by car is cheaper than public transport. The one of the merits of having it is that you can be free completely from the dependence on your parents so you can go everywhere, and enjoy your private life more than ever. In addition, you can use the driver license as an important document* to prove your identification easily so you do not need to worry about proving yourself anymore when you submit something. Having to rely on your parents to drive you places is a hassle because you have to work around your parents schedule but when you can drive your self-places its easier. I don’t consider myself accident prone because I am very careful person. Temptation I think I will have when I get my license is going to be wanting to go places but not having enough gas money. If I am ever stuck behind a car that is going* awfully slow and I am late for work, I would call my boss and tell him I am stuck in traffic so I will be a little late. If one of my friends refuses to put there seatbelt on I will refuse to drive them anywhere, unless they agree to buckle up. To keep myself calm from panicking if my car ever fails to work I would just breath and get to the side of the road as fast as I can and just turn off my car or call triple A, Or call my…

There are many responsibilities that come with the privilege of driving a motor vehicle. One of the most important responsibilities of driving is safety. As a driver, you are not only responsible for yourself and your vehicle. You are also responsible for the safety of your passengers riding in the vehicle with you. It is said that Young drivers are involved in more accidents than any other age group. But it's not really a fact. Defensive driving, driving within posted speed limits, not driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and always wearing a safety belt are primary defenses against serious injury and death. A young person under the age of 16 is considered a juvenile. A person under the age of 18 is a minor. Below is some information on legal issues affecting youth. Where applicable, consult with an attorney. Teens in Kansas can get their driver's permit when they are 14 years of age however in most of other states including Washington you have to be at 15 years and 6 months of age. You are able to get your Temporary license at age 16 there are rules that there shouldn't be. Even though it might seem that minors and juveniles are less experienced in driving then adults it's really not true. I researched this subject and I think that a person at the age of 16 should get their adult license right when they pass the drivers test instead of the Temporary license because one they know how to drive and most of them drive better then adults. The number of passengers shouldn't be limited.…

How many of you currently have your driver’s license? That means that all of you that raised your hand are either currently under or have been under the sixth month Georgia driving rule. This drivers rule states that a class D license holder is not to drive between the hours of midnight and 5:00am (“Teen Driving Laws”). This strict law also dictates that, for the first six months, a class D license holder may not have more than one passenger in the car (“Teen Driving Laws”). This single passenger is to be an immediate family member (“Teen Driving Laws”). An example of this would be a sibling, parent, or child of the driver (“Teen Driving Laws”). I’m sure all of you know of these restricting rules because we are forced to follow them.…
