Drinking Water Keeps Us Healthy
Drinking a healthy amount of water is vital to our health. We can never imagine just by increasing our water intake, we gain tremendous health benefits, and sometimes we can even throw away our migraine medicine or pain killer. Before we can appreciate the benefits of water to our health, let’s review the role of water in our body.
We are always being told to drink more water but a lot us struggle to get through a set amount every day. We all need water, our bodies are made of about 70% water and all of our systems and vital organs require it to function. Water carries nutrients to all of our cells, flushes toxins from our kidneys, removes waste from our bowels, aids in our digestion, regulates our temperature, and lubricates our joints. Not getting enough water can cause headaches, constipation, dry skin, fatigue, and even water retention because our body will hold the little it is getting. There are many benefits of drinking water: * Lose Weight: Drinking water can help us lose weight by crowding out the consumption of other fluids like juice and soda that are packed with sugar and calories; it flushes the system of toxins and waste including fat, prevents us from over eating, aids in digestion and keeps our metabolism going. * Cushion and Lube Our Joints and Muscles: Water makes up a large part of the fluid that lubricates and cushions our joints and muscles. Painful joints are a signal of water shortage. It can affect the young as well as the old. Drinking water before, during, and after exercising keeps our body limber and reduces muscle cramping.

This is definitely one way of getting rid of the problem but you’ll need to drink more water for the fiber to work properly. Otherwise it could have the opposite effect and make you worse. Women fall somewhere between 50 and 60% of water weight (Grosvenor, Smolin, 2006). Water is in the cells that make up tissue and organs: even in our bones. The water inside cells is called intracellular fluid and passes through the walls of cells with the assistance of proteins, sodium, and potassium which are dissolved in the body. This ebb and flow of intracellular fluid controls the levels of dissolved substances in the different compartments of the body. When particle concentrations are too high, water flows in to dilute, lowering the concentration to a proper level. When too low, water flows away from the compartment, thus raising the concentration.
