November 23, 2010 Public schools should require students to wear uniforms. I say this because I've attended a public school where we had to wear uniforms. The difference between the students wearing casual clothes and uniforms is noticable. Many students attend public schools, and it would be best if uniforms were required, due to diversity, to help identify students, and to keep organization. Public schools have students from all over the world. Not only Americans, but people of different race, characteristics, and cultural backgrounds. No one should be judged by the way they dress any differently than others. If uniforms are worn everyone would look as one. In this way, uniforms helps eliminate discrimination.

It's going to be hard trying to identify two to five hundred students if they're wearing different types of clothing. Many public schools have at least two hundred or more students enrolled. For example, if an incident was to happen School Officials would have a difficult time trying to find someone. The students are assigned to wear a certain color according to their grade level. Therefore, students wear uniforms to make the jobs of the officials easier.

Uniforms play an important role with organization in public schools. The School Board makes the rules and enforces them. Students know what to wear and what not to wear. Students come to school well organized and prepared to learn. In addition, everyone looks professional.

Students should be able to get along with each other and be united, but yet be indentified as an individual. Public schools should require uniforms to let students know they're coming to learn and not let clothing be the discussion.

Through past experience with this argument, it’s safe to say that wearing a uniform is not a bad thing at all. Why? For one, uniforms stop other students from being judged on how they look, two, they save families money and students will not pressure their parents into buying clothes some families can’t afford, and lastly uniforms increase safety and security. So I do strongly agree that students should be able to wear uniforms.…
