As a registered childminder it is important that I understand about the DDA,
The DDA has a new approach because it requires public bodies to change and to show how they are working to eliminate unlawful disability discrimination and also disability related bullying.
Disabled children, young people and also adults have rights of access to various services through DDA; it has become law over the time from 1995 with each bit of the DDA making the act a little stronger. The DDA applies to the whole of the uk.
The DDA is so important because it was the first piece of legislation to make some forms of discrimination against disabled children and adults unlawfully.
DDA 2005 Act The DDA 2005 Act requires public bodies to change and to show how they work to eliminate unlawful disability discrimination and bullying relating to someone’s disability. All public bodies must have a written Disability Equality Scheme showing how they promote disability
