Discrimination of Gays and Lesbians Here in our country, we have a big population. Years have passed and there are many gays and lesbians in our community. In the eyes of people, gays and lesbians are not acceptable because they think that gays and lesbians are the problems of our country. There are some reasons why there are gays and lesbians. Children and adolescents become gays and lesbians because of their peers. As long as they hang out with their friends or peers, the more that they become gays and lesbians. They actually have been acceptable with their friends because it is how they see in them. Their peers don’t care what their identity is as long as they don’t bring any problems. There is also a fact that when they always hang out with their opposite sex or gender, they will do the same thing as the others are doing.
In social media, there are videos like movies and “tele-nobelas” that are usually been watched by children and adolescents. There are videos that have characters like gays and lesbians, usually in the eyes of the children, it’s fun being a gay and lesbian so that is time when the children will try to act like the characters in the videos and they will idolized the characters in the videos. That is why while children are watching videos, parents must be beside them to guide and explain everything for them what is truly in the videos they have watched.
In our environment, the more that we interact different people, the more that we are being influenced by their identity or personality. There are people who are gays and lesbians everywhere; when we interact with them or saw them there is a possibility that we might adapt their personality.
We go to marriage of gays and lesbians. When it comes to gays, same sex marriage is acceptable in our country because of our institution which is religion but in the other country, it is more acceptable than in our country. When it comes to marriage of a gay and a lesbian as lovers, we accept it because they have opposite sex/gender.
But now, we must accept the gays and lesbians because it is who they are. We must not judge them and must not hurt them just because of their identity. Some people think that gays and lesbians are the problems of the society. No! Because they don’t usually bring problems to us, so we must accept them who they are.
